Since my CDX is in the shop for awhile getting repaired, I was wondering if anyone could point me to some good RPG games for a PC.
My only problem is that I have a computer on the slower side, 650, although I do have 512mb ram.
I'm not big the anime style either.I dont really know too much about RPGs, so any help would be appreciated :D
Siege of Avalon is a Diablo style action RPG that, surprisingly, I found very enjoyable. It's very low budget and dated but I found it very interesting and fun.
I really can't stand Diablo and its ilk, but Ultima 7 is awesome. The SNES version sucks.
Nethack! It's open source, it's fun, it's funny, it's quirky, and it runs on everything.
Or, if you prefer your Nethack all prettified, try Vulture's Eye, a fork of the (sadly) discontinued Falcon's Eye. Probably one of the best Nethack graphical improvements out there, even if it isn't technically advanced. (Then again, that's good for people without powerful computers.)
If a commercial RPG is what you're looking for, Neverwinter Nights is pretty fun, as is Morrowind, even if Oblivion is a gajillion times better. You could also look into the Dungeon Siege games, but I've never much cared for them, myself.
If you're willing to venture out of the genre a bit, give Darwinia a shot. It's one of the most fun games I've ever played, not to mention the most retro-awesome. And there's a free demo on that site to try out too.
The first two fallout games where pretty good -- i only played for an hour and then traded them away, it was kind of silly as I got jipped off.
I got Baldur's Gate II for Christmas one year, it was pretty good.
Both Fallout games are fantastic, I definitely recommend those. Great atmosphere, very amusing dialog, deep customization, and a fun sort of strategy-RPG turn-based battle system.Quote:

Fallout 2, Baldur's Gate 2 and Planescape Torment are your best bets. And unlike old console RPGs you don't have to shell out a fortune for them.
Though they may not be very well known outside of Germany, Gothic and Gothic 2 are some of the finest RPGs you can find. Besides them I would recommend Morrowind and Neverwinter Nights or maybe sacred.
I hear all the time how great Baldurīs Gate and the Fallout games are, but I didnīt like them personally.
Final Fantasy VII, VIII, Grandia 2 and Breath of Fire 4 were also available on PC, I like all of them.
