Ugh. I want this, but it won't let me complete the preorder until I send a Paypal payment - it says you don't need to pay until release, but I guess that just means when you pay by Bank Transfer? It'll have to wait, damned season of expense. :P

Ooh, I'm gonna have fun with this one! I'll see if I can pre-order a copy.
I don't know the Dreamcast's library quite so well as that of the Genesis or Saturn, but I was under the impression that there were tons of shmups available for the DC. I seem to recall that there were actually officially published games coming out as late as 2007 for the DC, and a quick check on wikipedia confirms that the last 2 SEGA produced games were shmups.
Cheers, that's exactly what I was trying to say.
For the record, this looks awesome, and I wasn't trying to complain. I love shmups, it's just interesting that that particular genre seems to be dominating DC's homebrew scene.
OH great, an Euroshmup.
wow!
Damn, this looks awesome. Can't wait to buy it and crank the difficulty all the way up. When I first play a game I like to see what it's got under the hood.
For those of you who've previously ordered from redspotgames: Am I right to believe that if I don't pre-order it now, the price will significantly increase once it debuts? I don't want to miss-out on a bargain price.

Also, they write it's due to be released now at the end of the second quarter of 2011. So, are we talking some time today... maybe?
Not seen it mentioned here yet but Sturmwind is in fact the sequal to the Atari Jaguar CD game Native:
The game was indeed postponed. It just sucks that they waited after the first "given" release date expired to tell us:

Haste makes waste. This is what developer team Duranik thought during the last months while working on their upcoming Dreamcast shoot em up.
After an internal evaluation as well as constructive feedback from fans, redspotgames and Duranik have decided to put even more efforts into ‚Sturmwind‘. Unfortunately this means that both parties have to announce a delay of the release of „Sturmwind“. The new street day will be 11-11-11

I was really put off by how RedSpot Games handled their communication about their last release (Rush Rush Rally Racing)
I sure as shit ain't preordering this one.
Im still waiting to find out if they continue with there traditional Japanese style packing or switch to dvd cases. Im a big whiner when it comes to that but, I refuse to buy DVD case games on DC. I was so pissed after I had bought DUX and then found out about its packaging.
A delay? That's too bad... I just hope it ends up good, I'm hopeful it will be. :)
Any news on this so far? I was hoping by now we'd get some definitive news if it was still going to be released in 2012.
