There's no need to divulge rumors dude. I asked a reasonable question. There have been tons of news since your buddy pre-ordered it.
I for one wouldnt mind a copy.
Looks good to me. Doubly cool that it's not just another bullet-hell game.
I've been waiting on this one for a long time. Then again, I'm pretty sure every active Dreamcast fan has as well.
They have a question/answer segment at the top of their web page now where they indicate the game will definitely be released in 2012, they just don't know the exact date. Sounds like it's going to be a Christmas gift.
Redspotgames gave out an update a few days ago over at Shmups:

Hello everyone.
Sorry to hear you are not content with the payment handling. I would like to enlighten the situation a bit.

On the other hand, redspotgames has been announced again and again that no payment is required to make the pre-order – it’s even displayed in bold and red and in two languages in the redspotgames online shop.
That's strange, considering they took my payment immediately when I pre-ordered both the standard and Ltd versions. And I'm not the only person this happened to.
I'm really not happy with the way this is being handled, and the FAQ is like they're trying to absolve themselves.
Indeed we got some feedback about this issue. We're sorry if this is confusing.
We don't charge your account without any notice - the customer will be redirected to PayPal (if you choose PayPal as the payment method that is) and you have to accept the direct payment out of your PayPal control panel with all detailed information. If you don't want to pay, just decline and click the window away.
Why we are accepting payments nevertheless:
Once the game arrives from our suppliers, all paid order will be shipped asap, means the very same day. Others need to wait for the shipping until the newly sent invoices are paid. Since many people from Europe are paying by bank transfer, the might take 3-6 days until the money arrives. And some are so into the game, that they don't want to wait another 3-6 days until we send it out.
Of course it is unacceptable that you have paid without wanting to.
Please contact my colleagues at the redspotgames customer support and everyone will be refunded asap.
As all previous redspotgames releases, Sturmwind has been produced and financed by the own company budget. This is not a Crowd Funding project, and we want to prevent this impression.

There was a post on Duranik's Facebook page where they said they were just waiting on the limited edition boxes. Which is sort of contrary to that FAQ which suggests there are other outstanding issues.
I have no idea why, with the game being delayed for over a year, updates on the situation have been so sparse but at least they've finally come out and said something. At least when it was shifted to November '11 it was because they were adding more stuff to the game and that was made clear. Presumably they've taken the additional delay to tighten things up further?
Actually there have been other issues as well, such as the CD facility went bankrupt. You can read further information in this part of the Sturmwind FAQ: http://www.redspotgames.com/sturmwind-faq/#9
There you can also have a look at the (now defunct) CD factory.
In the meanwhile both Duranik and redspotgames agreed to enhance the game in the meanwhile, e.g. a new HUD, weapon system and the SD Card feature!
If you have any other questions, please contact my colleagues at redspotgames customer support.
Have a nice day guys!
I didn't realize that the developer was communicating with clientele on the forum. I need to voice my displeasure at not recieving an email when I enquired that my shipping address was correct. I sent them numerous emails without a reply.
Here is another update from Redspotgames sent via email:

Dear redspotgames customers and fans
In our last newsletter we have talked about the evaluation of the Sturmwind test CD-ROMs. These have been completed by now. Like we have thought due to our experience, the first run won't be the final run.
Compatibility issues occurred that made it impossible for us to continue with the production. It's the first Dreamcast project we're realizing with this new CD-ROM facility and the first Dreamcast project for them in general.
Good news are: We have worked on an update, which the CD factory has received in the meanwhile. They will work hard between the Christmas holidays to manufacture a new set of test CD-ROMs. We also will invest extra work during the holidays. Things are looking good.
As always: We will keep you informed on both our Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as with this customer newsletter.
We wish you a merry Christmas, beautiful holidays with the family and thanks again - for supporting the Dreamcast scene!
With best regards

Looks awesome.
Er mer gurd! Sturmwind.
Yes, I suspect that the long wait will be well worth it! Leading up to the release of the game, it appears that Redspotgames scared alot of buyers by sending an email with respect to shipping. They had me sweating bullets when it took them 96 hours to actually respond ot my enquiry. In my case, the invoice incorrectly showed my address listed in Germany and I simply needed confirmation about the address they had on file. After corresponding with them, it appears that they were bombarded with tons of emails from consumers enquiring about their order. I am quite stoked to finally get to play Sturmwind! The visuals look stunning!
I'll never get to play this! YAY!
