Lack of interest and manufacturer.

Maybe you could get in touch with the same factory Brandon uses? Or just ask Bradon to manufacture some extra clamshells. His original print run of Legend of Wukong was 300 I believe so the factory will make low amounts.
If you can get some I'd definitely be up for buying some, but I'd probably want only 25.
Now if someone made brand new sega cd cases that would be awesome! I asume they difficult to manufacture. They do tend to pop up on ebay every once in a while for outrageous prices though.
Indeed, how many manufacturers did you try? How much were they asking for? I know if you could sell the clamshell with insert in it made to order and perhaps a copy of the instruction book made to order youd sell a bunch of them.
Imagine being able to order a box and instruction book for your Truxton Cart and get it with the NEW smell for a few bucks. It'd be worth it.
Maybe if you have lost interest in this project you could give me your leads and what info you have and I can run with it... What do you think?
So... did anyone find the clamshells? :\
In china I found a lot of clamshells, most exact same as beggar prince or megacart. They are used for Famicom games here since years and come from a HUUUUGE stock (million of them) somewhere in Shenzhen.
Quite fragile and flimsy. I've bought then put hundred of them in the recycle bin last month.
I still think the only method for now is to buy a bunch of EA sport games and recycle them.
Regarding the production of NEW clamshells, you will never find any factory who do under 25 000 units MOQ, not counting the mold cost which is certainly above few thousand usd. Or else its POS quality or not really new ;P.
Well, at least now I have some info from a reliable source ;)
Anyone know if these are good?

^^ Tempted to give these a shot. They even have the hang-tabs present!!
There seems to be mixed reviews on them , but for that price it would'nt hurt to buy them and see.
That's why I just try and get my hands on spare clamshells that are in decent shape. That way, when I come across a CIB gem with a beat-to-shit clamshell, it's just a matter of swapping it out.
my star odyssey box feels like crap
When I was in Sacramento
At Dimples they had like 8 Genesis Clamshell Not EA ones for $1 all sports btw..
Just received a 3-pack of these! So far the plastic seems decent and sturdy, the hangtabs are firmly attached, and the sleeves don't feel like they'd separate from the case easily. You'd have to be really tugging on them for it to happen.
Only gripe thus far is one of them was defective, with a cut on the sleeve.
