... Which would it be: The Nomad or the Mega Drive? Bear in mind you can't attach any of the awesome (ish) add ons to it, even though you can hook it up to your TV. I can't quite decide on this one.

It's been fun Nomad, but you shall quit devouring mah batteries! *chucks Nomad over shoulder!

Depends. If I had a dedicated CRT TV to use with my MD than I would keep it. If I had to constantly hook up the MD to a shared TV I'd say fuggit and go with the Nomad.
why would anyone choose to keep their nomad if faced with this choice?
Don't even have to think about it. Later Nomad!!!!!!
Because they are better than PSPs. It's true. The only thing Sega did that was really stupid was not to make them run off 12 AA batteries in order to run Sega CD games for a few minutes; they could have made a special mark 3 version to attach to the back of the Nomad. I could just about live without 32X games, but the idea that I could play Sonic CD for 1/2 an hour tops on a bus in the 1990s is just too appealing to me! They committed marketing suicide by not doing that one.
I love my Nomad but bye-bye!
I'd keep the Nomad, cause then I could play it on the TV and take it with me. I guess it helps that I have a beautiful new screen in my Nomad that doesn't suck the batteries dry.
There are many more variables than just which one do you keep. If you need to play 32X, obviously you keep the MD. If you don't have a 32X or games, you may want to keep the Nomad. I see people complaining about the batteries on the Nomad - so why don't you get rechargeable batteries? Between rechargeable batteries and the AC adapter, I spend zilch on batteries. That last time I used regular batteries in my Nomad was when I tested which uses less power - the MD-Pro or the Everdrive-MD.
This thread is silly. Who is this person who's forcing me to make this choice, anyway? He's not a really big guy, is he?
IS THIS A JOKE!?! screw the nomad. That battery theif
Peace Nomad. Don't let the Game Gear slap your ass on the way out.
If by "Mega Drive" you mean a 50Hz PAL Mega Drive then I'll take the Nomad, no doubt about that. If a Mega Drive is the Japanese version, a modded PAL MD or a Genesis, I'd agree with the rest of you and go with that. - I will never ever play in 50Hz again!
Don't like the aspect ratio? Or the flicker? Or is the the music timing?
There's a significant number of games that play with less slowdown in 50 Hz due to the greater amount of DMA time (along with some other factors). Granted there's the issues with games that used the vblank timer for tempo and others (far less often) with actual gameplay speed problems due to such timing, but less so in later games. (it really depends on how the music is timed and whether it's been corrected if vblank was used for timing)
In this day and age, it's not much of a choice. The nomad is ~$100 loose. The Genny/MD is ~$4.
It's like asking, do I get rid of one Sega Genesis/MD unit? Or of twenty five of them at once?
If you want money, then you won't loose your ability to play Genny/MD games by selling your nomad.
If you want space, then you won't get any money by selling your Genny/MD. :(
I'll be keeping the Nomad, no doubt
The Nomad is quite sexy but I can't play streefighter on that crappy d-pad. See ya Nomad!
What? Are you kidding me?
Those things eat batteries, aren't really all that portable (even less so than the original "brick" GameBoy), and the small screen gives me a headache.
Not really a choice, is it?
Lol, everyone forget that the Nomad can run off of a Mega Drive/Genesis 2 ac adapter? It's goes back and forth between being a portable and a home console (with the av out and 2nd controller port) so go figure. It's like a model 2 but condensed with clear stereo sound and correct me if I'm wrong, not a bad video encoder.
I only use the Nomad with an AC adapter, and I would agree that the AV output is better than a Genesis 2. The quality of the video output is also better than my Genesis 1, sound is another issue though.
Considering I only have the genesis, it's an easy pick.
keep the nomad imo, you can play it on tv just like a MD, can run with the power supply so no battery issue, save space, and i guess its value will raise in time much faster than a MD.
So in future, if you want a MD again you'll be able to buy it for cheap, not quite the same for Nomad :\
I just had my Nomad rechargable battery pack modded with a fresh battery. (Also a nice charger to go with it).
Have played it for 2 hours and it's still going strong. The guy who did the mod reckons it should go for 5 hours on a full charge.
That combined with the new LCD screen make it the winner. It's increadibly odd and satisfying to finally be able to play a nomad without being teathered to a wall.

:bs:
I can play every Genesis and SMS game (and games for all other old consoles and PSX) nigh perfectly on my PSP 2000, with a much better screen and much longer battery life.
I know PSPs are better. I was just joking, you can tell I was because it wasn't funny!
