I bought two of these in the past 3 months (the belt clip one and the one that screws in the back of the system) at a flee market and both of them didn't hold a charge. They worked has a pass through for the AC adapter but that's about it. So I got to think, these are a freaking batteries, they either no longer hold a charge because they've been charged to often or because they've dried up for not being used enough.
So, should I even bother trying a 3rd time?
fortunatly the belt pack one uses a standard 7.2 c sub c rc car battery also found in some airsoft toys
and is pretty easy to replace
Personally I wouldn't bother. You can get 6 high power rechargeable AA batteries these days pretty cheap, they last longer than the clip ever did, and you can use the batteries for other things.
Well, you'd probably get dead or near dead batteries, I'd imagine. Unless you can replace the batteries, don't bother with it.
i would get those Energizer Lithium Batteries, like the ones you put in a Digital camera.
I think that should give you plenty of play time
Those GG batteries lost their ability to hold a charge a long time back...
Figured as much, thanks for confirming guys. I guess I'll buy 6 Panasonic’s R2 batteries and be done with it. Only sucky part is that my charger takes only 4 batteries at the time :p
Then get another charger that holds 2 at a time. That's what I did.
Rechargeable AA batteries are one of the greatest inventions of last decade. :D
Agreed, rebuild the thing with new cells, you will have a great battery after that.
With the sub-c ones, you can replace them with AA and if there is room even install a battery holder that takes up the same space so you can close it back up.
But if you do go looking again always buy as parts, cause most likely the cells will all be shot. Then send them to us :)
