Your friend sounds like my ex brother-in-law. He was a thief and stole my original CIB NES Arkanoid with Vaus controller. He also took my CIB Karnov. I have since replaced them from ebay (everything except the boxes anyway), but the Vaus controller is expensive to come by.

Sad thing is I think he sold these for drug money.:|
