WHAT GAME FROM MY CHILDHOOD AM I REMEMBERING?!

Oh my how this is bugging me today. I joined this forum just to ask you all this one question. I remember a game i used to play on the mega drive. all i remember is it had a top down view of your character and it was an adventure game. The front cover of the game had gold jagged writing so for all the years i had the game i never knew what it was, but now for nostalgia purposes id love to know. PLEASE HELP!! I just remember walking around on this game and talking to what i think were villiagers, i think i was a warrior of some sort...

Dungeons and dragons is a warrior game with villages but it has no gold writing on the cover tho.

An "adventure" game is vague. Anything more specific about the gameplay?
