Now it's time for a thread that isn't so deceitful...
I only listed the most common systems since I can't remember what ever single damn Genesis model there is off the top of my head.
And I only just realized the Nomad isn't there, oh well. Umm, since the LaserActive isn't so common, just pick that if you like the Nomad the best.
CDX - it's a SEGA CD all in one neat little package, and is still compatible with all the extras, like the PBC, GG, VR, and 32X.

Anyways, I chose the CDX because it is the awesomest thing that ever graced a CRT. But only because the Genesis Model 2/CD/32X wasn't an option.

I think most people will chose the model of their first Genesis. Or they may choose the sexiest Genesis like the CDX or whatnot.
I was tied between CDX and MD2 but I eventually chose MD2, I've had too much fun with it :P
Sega should have skipped the "model 2" crap and just went strait to an all-in-one combo system like the CDX. In retrospect it wasn't a very progressive move keeping them separate. It's like they were just milking for quick cash instead of shooting for a long term solution. I guess they just expected the x'eye and others to fill that gap.
I picked the model 1 for the poll.
Design wise, I regard the Mega Drive II as the sexiest thing after Dreamcast.
But CDX/Multi-Mega is an epic combo.
I never thought of it that way and now that I'm thinking of it I realize yeah, that was pretty dumb of them. A move like that could have majorly increased support for the Sega CD. Hell, it could have eventually supplanted cartridges all together and made the CD its primary format.Quote:

I've got to go with the sleek Model 1. Can't beat the Sound and Video output! Hi-Definition Graphics! 16-BIT stamped right on the cover in it's sleek black awesomeness!
Though I have the CDX and Nomad too, and they're also REALLY nice.
Model2 becuse thats what i own and i like the clean look it has
it's really hard to tell...
i like every model at the same for different reasons:
model1 have that cool vintage feeling, genesis 2 at the opposite looks timeless, cdx esthetically is quite generic but the concept iself is great, x'eye is unique and LaserActive looks so precious and tight
I'm torn between the Model 1 and the Multi-Mega (which is its real name, not CDX...).
The Multi-mega might win it for me just for its sheer compactness, but I don't know what revision of the chipset it has, which is crucial. Does it have the same crap sound output as the model 2? Considering when it came out, I expect it to, in which case I'll vote for the model 1. I have a Japanese model 1 + MCD model 1, which not only has a great chipset but looks amazing next to all my consoles, even the new ones like the 360.

Personally I thought the original wondermega was one of the slickest looking consoles ever released. It was a travesty that it never came out here.

The x'eye maybe a redesign, but it looks like a turd compared to the clean lines and economic design of the original.
Model 2 is my fave even though most have atrocious audio and video. Just when I plug in my M2 VA0 with the Sony CXA1145 it brings back so many memories :love:
