I never saw a single game made with bex that I would not call "abortion" after 10 seconds "playing" it.

I think BEX has the curse of being half done which leads to half done projects. Any sane person goes on to more complete tools. The last super excited young buck I knew got a very good start on a Black Tiger homebrew but moved on to Construct when BEX proved too broke
That being said I've got almost everything needed for a real Genesis game working except level data loading and z80 sound. Level data is just a programming labor issue. z80 sound may just be me working up the courage to ask Shiru for updated patches. Unless someone else knows of a z80 driver I can hook into BEX.
The SNES and GBA roms are fakes but really DO run on emulators. The Project26 rom is from a real platform game engine I'm programming. It features smooth horizontal scrolling which technically isn't possible on the Atari 2600.
Yes I know the demo I posted was not done the rom name and the zip file specifically said preview on it meaning it is not done once it is done I will formally release kung fu car fighting in the form of a topic.
Oerg866, sadly there's too much shit in this thread since Sik got banned. It was fun to come here and talk about Project MD and how amazing the stages look or the music sounds...
The BasiEgaXorz shit, the nonsense comments, people talking stupid shit about the project or general game programming discussions in a retard level...Really, if we could have a clean up in this thread it would be great.
I think this thread could get back on track if an updated version of the game got released. But right now, as it is, it's looking an awful lot like an abandoned project that will never see completion. Sure, it's gone open source, but is anyone actually working on it?
Well, from what I've read, Sik wanted to abandon this project awhile ago. The only other dev listed on the official website is Oerg866 and he hasn't posted any new info. I'd expect a little joking around since, well, April Fools day.
Well, uh, I have not actually seen him anywhere since mid-march so ... uh... Also, you should jsut chekc the website...

Nuff said.
I did get Echo working in BEX, but BEX is too buggy with its include function. The files have to be in BEX folder or else the assembler won't find them. Piece of shit. However, I did end up with a BEX rom with the entire game soundtrack :PQuote:

Is there a download with source for your BEX soundtrack? I saw your Echo Tester and I'm pretty sure that's not it. I got the TFM driver to work and z80 sound effects are really the last hurdle before real games could be made. I'm stuck programming a Divine Sealing clone until z80 sound effects are figured out :p
But, back on-topic. A BEX soundtrack with your Project MD music would be pretty rad if made available. Sometimes I just want to listen to the music.
From what I hear Samsung was making IBM Deskstar drives at the time they started to fail hard in the quality department. IBM soon sold out its hard drive business entirely to Samsung. Never trusted them afterwards. I guess I'll have to recreate your work once the Echo github comes back online so I can download Echo.
UPDATE: Oops! I forgot.. it was Hitachi and IBM..
I've been using Samsung Spinpoint drives for many years and never had a problem. Actually, the ONLY harddrive problem I've EVER had was with those old crappy Seagate drives that had the head "stiction" problem.
I have a big box of dead Samsung Spinpoints at work. I personally have never had any issues with Seagates. All my Samsungs have died except for one that still seems to work.
And IBM drives became Hitachi drives, and Hitachi drives are among the better ones, I've yet to see one to fail...
