after so many years, it looks like it's about to finally come to life.
:D
Probably the best trailer ever made.
The graphics are a little disappointing but the game sure seems fun.
And LOL at the censorship.
Yes! Fuck yes! FUCK YES FUCK YES FUCK YES FU-
...... I'm sorry, I should conduct Myself better, and describe My feelings for the situation in a dignified, adult manner....... Nah, fuck it.
FUCK YES FUCK YES FUCK YES FUCK YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!
Its a shame that gearbox now owns the Duke4 copyright, otherwise we might have gotten the old duke4 for free from 3dRealms,
similar to how they released their Duke3D beta as Lameduke.
but now that gearbox owns the Duke4 IP i don't see that happening.
But Duke4 looks very promising, looks like a real good game.
This is pretty incredible. DNF better win some nice ass awards.
I probably won't buy it (I like Serious Sam better), but just to give Gearbox some more money, I'd do it.
@ that 2001 DNF trailer:
I dunno about the rest of you, but I think that should have been Duke4. What is being released by Gearbox feels more like Duke5.
Really looking forward to this.
At first, I was only excited because of the "FINALLY!!!" factor surrounding this game. But this recent trailer is looking very slick.
I am not sure what kind of inventory system they are going with for this one, but I remember old footage containing a "two guns" Halo style of weapon wielding, where you need to trade old guns for better ones. This is something I don't like, so I hope they are scrapping it in the final edition.
I can't access that trailer at the moment (on my Xbox), but can anyone confirm if the VA is the same as the one from Duke 3D?
I really can't picture it otherwise...
Yup, Jon St. John in all his glory.
Totally agree, and the main reason why i posted that clip.
Its a shame that they never managed to finish it back in 1999, because then Duke4 could have been part of the big three,
those being : Half-Life/Unreal/Quake III, it would have really fitted in that era of pc gaming.
So I too hope that they'll decide to release the older stuff, Because i love seeing how games change.
Looks gorgeous and fun to play.
Can't believe that the final product is an edit of the Unreal Engine 2... that's amazing what they've done with it. Looks about as amazing as what Valve did with IDTech 2 back in the day (which turned into HL 1).
Unreal 1 is not in the same league with IDTech 3... and it ain't in the same league with HL 1 either.
Long time no see, Duke! DN3D was my second favorite game in mid-90's (the first one being almighty DooM).
