Why are band names so moronic?

I've been in a few bands... And the band name as always the big issue. And what's funny is I come up with band names all the time, just with different things people say or things I see through out the day. Everyday I'll see or hear something and say.. "That's a good band name"

We've even gone as far as saying "Everything's Taken" as a band name.. But even THAT was already used! Grrr!!

I was always big on the one name band names... So here are a few that I've used in the past..

BAQSLASH (came up with that when we were talking about Guns and Roses and how Axle was back on tour, and my little brother imagined him having band members that looked like the original band members, and that got us thinking of opposite band members, and for example it's like Mario and Wario or Superman and Bizzaro. So I said well what would be a "backward's slash" then I said OHH "back slash" Then wrote it down and thought the Q has a "back slash" inside the letter (Q \ ) so it became BAQSLASH...




There was also "Liquid Citizen (another name for Aqua Man)




and "Otherwyze" and "Crysis" and "Minds of Madness (MOM)" and earlier, Shed Demons.

This was my problem and with stupid Myspace everything got worse. Now you might get a nasty note from some other obscure band from 2000 miles away that you have the same name. Any name I ever thought would be cool was taken forcing my bands to always have stupid names.

That reminds me of how I changed my band's name in Guitar Hero too many times. I've gone through Dreamwatcher, Dreamgazer, Dark Rite, Dragon Fossil, and now it's Xanadu. It's not much but at least it's a far cry better than something like Bowling for Soup.

I can't do it because my random wiki page was a band.

It don't get more badass than Rebel Meets Rebel! That's a manly band name with a manly cover!

I listen to mostly metal. When I say metal I mean thrash, death and black metal... In these genres there are some cool names and not so cool names. I think Darkthrone is a pretty badass name for a band but Evile is kinda lame...
