RUMOR: called PSP2 specs leaked...

Stumbled upon this in Gamespot last night, but decided to forward it over here to start some shitstorm among the tech geeks here. :p

Here are the alleged leaked specs, it is said to rival the next iPhone specs. Woah, Dynamite!!! :eek:

Control: A Multi-touch trackpad (rumored to be on the rear of the unit), four face buttons, two shoulder buttons, two analog sticks, directional pad

Quad core???!! Quad core graphics chip?! 512MB RAM?! 3G?! Can anybody say battery life of 5mins?! Price tag of "Five Hundred and Ninety Nine US Dollars"?! Well, All jokes aside....My mouth is watering. No really, it is. All over my laptop keyboard that is. Better get a tissue...

But really, I hope Sony can pull through this time around with their handheld wonder. We really don't want to see rampant piracy on it that nearly killed the old PSP. I hope they implement PS3 level security (before the ultimate hackage) on the thing, (I bet the hackers and pirates are already salivating at this thing). And if priced APPROPRIATLEY and comes with a strong flurry of 1st and 3rd party support, I can really see this one taking off better, against the 3DS than last time.

the kitchen sink approach failed with the PSP1, it failed with the PS3, it will fail with the PSP2.

why would anyone want such a device? Mega Drive achieved gaming perfection with technology from the late 1980s, and if you want mobile gaming, bang, you've got Nomad. All the 'game' anyone would have a sane need for.

Any device with higher specs is just a waste and a certified rouse to extract money from the uninformed sheep-like general public. That's official, I've got facts n' sources n' shit to back it up.

Those big bulky bricks? Bu-bu-but....You can't even fit them in your pocket!! :p Besides, so called "gaming perfection technology from the late 1980s" can be emulated on today's certain smaller candybar form factored portable wonder. ;)

If you're wealthy, upper-class and most importantly 'special' enough to own a Nomad then you'll obviously be rich enough to own a pair of pockets on your trousers that work correctly.

And if you truly appreciated games then you wouldn't own a Sony product, purely due to human decency and principle.

Quick question. If in North America it's called the Genesis Nomad (I think), wouldn't the Euro version be called the Mega Drive Gypsy? :p

Not sources I had in mind, but hmmm, I don't know what trousers truely cater to such bricks, must be some funny pair any rich folk or you wear. :rofl:

As much I would love to own a Nomad, I really don't think I'd want to be seen in public with one, specially with that big mo' fuckin' rechargable battery 'block' at the back. It certainly wouldn't fit even in pockets that 'work' with that thing on the Nomad. I know you don't also want to carry a box a fresh batteries for one journey to boot. otherwise. ;)

You're right. Such radical and futuristic gaming devices shouldn't really be seen by the public, they just wouldn't understand the Nomad's power or significance. You'd be better sticking to a gameboy advance or something.

Must you really ask about correct trousers for Nomad gaming? If you're going to play 90's consoles you need 90's pants... I have one name and one picture for you:

Nomad runs out of battery power, he just pulls his OTHER Nomad out of the pocket
and keeps playing, while the first Nomad is recharging inside his pants, hooked up
to a mobile generator that works on solar energy (and is also located somewhere
within his pockets).

Now that's how you play your Nomad people.

And that is proof why the psp2 (along with all other portable gaming systems) is already redundant.
