like others have said i would recommend World of Illusion very easy game to beat but it is still pretty fun
Aladdin is very doable, I agree. As for shmups, Troubleshooter is about the easiest I've tried so far.
Also try:
ToeJam and Earl in Panic on Funkotron
The Ren & Stimpy Show Presents: Stimpy's Invention
Now, if you want stupid easy (but great in their own way)...
The Berenstain Bears: Camping Adventure
Outrun 2019
Desert Demolition: Starring Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote
Mortal Kombat (Part 1 - Use Rayden from beginning to end non-stop with his one special "superman" move ;))
And I know you said no RPGs, but what about some action RPGs or simply action adventure titles...?
Chakan The Forever Man
Adventures of Batman and Robin
Sub Terrania
Contra Hard Corps (US/EU)
Eternal Champions
Ecco The Dolphin
Red Zone
Alien Soldier
Comix Zone
Ghouls and Ghosts
Avoid all of the above like the plague!
I recommend:
World of Illusion
Monster World IV
Aladdin
Beyond Oasis (It's an adventure game, but it has beat'em up elements)
^ You forgot Fantasia!
lol @ fantasia.....has anyone ever beaten that!?!?!
...piece of shit....:D
anyway . .
depends what u mean by easy? ;)
this is the good thing about the megadrive library - its pretty limited in its format and style of games, and because of that, its got some fuckin belters!!
id suggest a game like columns for an easy-for-the-casual-gamer style of play....kinda relaxin too ;)
in the same breath, what about ms pac man?.....although it can be "strenuous" at times within the gameplay, its simple and fun, especially in two player!!...an absolute classic on any platform in my opinion - youll always get a good few minutes of light-hearted entertainment from those bleepy lil yellow bastards!! (....either male OR female pac's) ;)
i always liked super monaco GP too....its pretty easy going once you get the hang of it (not too much to get to grips with to be honest)
the micro machines series, although challenging - have good learning curves - needs some initial patience and requires some skills....but its another really solid and familiar format that doesnt have many controls and requires concentration in a specific area
theyre some different styles of 'accessible game' to have a bash at
happy gamin :)
Mega turrican
Thunder force 3
Contra hard corps
Castlevania bloodlines
It gets very easy once you get the boss patterns down, I can beat it without losing a continue.
I will point half a dozen games, which - on easiest settings - are excellent for beginners. One have just to spend 60 minutes in order to get used to the gameplay.
Here are the games: "Battletoads and Double Dragon"; "Blaster Master 2"; "Combat Cars"; "Doom Troopers"; "GleyLancer"; and "Sub-Terrania".
Have a nice time!
I'd say Ristar is fairly enjoyable and not too hard.
Very calm and atmospheric game with interesting gameplay mechanics and pretty sweet tunes :)

I second the Arrow Flash recommendation. If you have a Sega CD, try Wonder Dog.
