Is anyone really interested in anything Sega's coming-out with these days?

Conformity. It sucks....:daze:

I was quite hyped about Sonic 4 Ep 1... Turned out to be just an average 2D downloadable mini-game. Not much there.

I was really hyped about Bayonetta... Turned out to be just a distribution rights for Sega. They didn't do much but give the rights to "rings" and a "Space Harrierske" mini game.

I was really hyped about Sonic Colors... Turned out to be just for kids (alright, I admit it. I'm still hyped about this one ;)).

At any rate, Sega is still alive (thanks to Viewpoint... I mean Samy). So, what do you guys feel about this? Is it conformity that Sega's been bound to; or sheer mediocrity?

P.S.> Don't get me wrong though. It's not just SEGA. It's the whole gaming industry nowadays (with few exceptions). But wouldn't you like something in the vein of Grim Grimmoire, Odin Sphere, A Boy and His Blob (Wii version), etc....? If not 2D, then how about something worth playing without self-gloryfication on behalf of the developer:??

I am definitely not interested in anything Sega is selling these days. Doing so would be a waste of money. I think the last new Sonic game I will ever buy is Sonic 4 part 1. Not bad, but definitely not worthy of being called Sonic the Hedgehog 4. They forgot to put "Advance" or "Rush" in there.

If Sega got bought by some other company who actually cared about Sega's intellectual properties from the 80s and 90s, THEN I would be interested in buying one of their games. Better yet is if a reformed Sega released a brand new game system.

The only thing of note I'm aware of that Sega is coming out with, is Shining Force Feather(for the DS), but sega is full of morons so it doesn't look like they bring it to NA(also I want 7th Dragon which while Sega didn't develop it, they have exclusive publishing rights for it).

Also yea, the industry for the most part sucks in general, which is why I stick to the very few good companies left(frankly I'm not even happy with most of Nintendo's newer games) such as the godly ATLUS(they have been outdoing them selves lately, we're talking games so amazing, it feels like we're back in the golding age of gaming, the sad thing though, that's only one company, and a few genres).

PS. The remake of Goldeneye should've been godly, but no it was a POS sigh(the worst maps ever made, combined with the worst lighting ever, and not only did it not play anything like Goldeneye, but you have to screw around with the control setting for an hour or so to fix their screw up, because clearly no one beta tested the game).

This has been the biggest facepalm I've seen lately. I thought it was common knowledge that Activision's GoldenEye had NOTHING to do with Rare's version. They didn't consult them, no collaboration with them, no source code for N64 GoldenEye, NOTHING. Absolutely NOTHING.

So the big question here is, why did ANYBODY think Craptivision's GoldenEye was going to be ANYTHING like the N64 original????. Sometimes I wonder who's more stupid. The video game companies who make garbage, or the gamers who buy said garbage...

I think it had to do with the Marketing. I remember some ads for it where they were making it seem like a remake. I can't remember when or where I saw these ads though. Guess Activision tried to ride off the popularity of the original. I dunno.

But back on topic, I was excited for OutRun Arcade for 360 and After Burner Climax for 360 as well. I had fun with both of those games and still do. And believe it or not, I also enjoyed Sega All-Star Tennis. Good game to play if I am bored. But as far as anything recent that Sega is doing, not really interested.

Why does everyone judge SEGA solely by the terrible Sonic games? They make and publish great games every year. For some upcoming titles, consider Yakuza 4 and Shogun 2.

I preordered my Tournament Edition last month, I'm ready:D

I liked Sonic Colors(both Wii and DS),Sakura Wars was pretty good as was Yakuza 3.Valkyria Chronicles came out a little while ago, but it was really good.Virtua Fighter 5 came a couple years back , and it is the best 3D fighting game this generation, the amount of time and detail sega puts into making VF is just staggering, it makes every other fighter feel like child's play.

oh yeah! Valkyria Chronicles was good, forgot that was sega. it's not very new though

interested yes, excited not really. colors was fun a step in the right direction, nights could've been MUCH better but it was ok. there's a few other games I'd like to pick up all-stars racing, the rest of the yakuza series (still replaying the first game) I have a little interest in tournament of legends and VF5:FS. It seems like a smart idea to publish P* games MadWorld is addicting and the moment I pick up a ps3 I'll definitely buy bayonetta and vanquish along with it. :D other than that I'm still waiting for their many old school franchises to be revived and as guntz said it would be nice to see a new sega console, not that I have hope of any of that happening...

Even the box proves my point. There is no mention of Rareware anywhere on it. Except maybe a notice saying "Not affiliated with Rare Ltd." or something similar.

As to snotmaw, I'm not complaining because it's a bad Activision game. I couldn't care less what the actual game is like, I just can't believe there are people out there who actually thought it had anything to do with the N64 original.

Back when it was first announced, I looked around and asked a lot, seeing if Rare was doing any work on the game as well, or even to let Activision use the N64 game as reference. When the only answer I received was "no", that was an instant "avoid" from me. I refuse to buy a copy of it, unless it's used since then Activision gets no money.

You know, if I wanted to be REALLY specific as to which company really should have been consulted when Activision started producing Wii GoldenEye, I should have mentioned Free Radical Design. However, FRD no longer exists as a company, they were bought by Crytek and the company is now called Crytek UK. If nobody knows what FRD/Crytek UK ever did, the guys who formed that company were prominent N64 GoldenEye developers. If anybody wants to know how to make a fun FPS game, just ask them. I mentioned Rare only because they own the rights to the original game.

Sega is like a long dead relative. We can reminisce of the good old days, but the current Sega is merely a zombie walking around in Sega's clothes.

Forget about Sega. They have been gone for quite some time, and the grieving needs to end so everyone can get on with their lives.
