The author looks as though he either lives in a nuclear volcano lair, or just runs a cult. Either way, a bit of a prick. Or he's the evil man from Del Monte.
Either that author is trolling in style or he's just fucking retarded and has no idea what he's talking about
are you serious? Islam is perfectly fine, that author is just an idiot
I don't think Islam is fine. It'd depend on what this means first. I think it means a lot of different things to different people. Some things are acceptable. Others aren't.
I don't think the Catholic Church is fine either.
I agree, no religion is without it's culturally adapted faults
Is atheism fine?
of course it's perfectly fine, anyone can believe exactly what they want to
Personally I can honestly say I have never seen 17days and that website in the same room at the same time...
...my troll radar pings loudly tonight
I highly doubt 5233 is 17days in disguise.
I'm not talking about 5233! I'm talking about the guy behind that website.. nvrmind though :)
Calling an inbred woman-beater a troll is probably too much praise. They literally do tend to act like this on average.
Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=io_HLVYN37s
Someone asked for some bacon and... uh oh!
wow I hope you really don't think every muslim is that crazy, judging from that post you seem just as ignorant as the author of that website
"Calling an inbred woman-beater a troll is probably too much praise"
Isn't that what most southern americans are like :)? (see what I did there?)
But I'm totally anti religion so what do I care.
Don't mind Kogen. He's our resident white supremacist and hates everything.
oh okay thanks Christuserloeser, i wasn't aware of that lol
How do we know this site is ironic? It looks pretty serious to me.
Is not it nice how Liberal elitists immediately take the side of hate-filled freaks and call any opposition 'white supremacists' ?
It's pretty much impossible for anybody to love everybody.
I only don't like the Muslums that think it is good to cut people's heads off in the name of the most merciful allah. Also the ones who think that if they become a suicide bomber they will get 70 virgins in the afterlife. Here's a young aspiring 12 year old boy. He started his headchopperoffing early.
The liberal minded certainly like to focus on the positive aspects of these backwards systems of belief. Regardless of whether they are innocently washing your feet and praying, or chopping the heads off of infidels, all religion, EVERY religion seems eye-rollingly laughable, just in the amount of time spent by millions of people that will account to nothing in the long run. Think, honestly; how much time do MODERATE religious folks spend in church every year? An hour or so a week? Well, that adds up to quite a lot of time that could have been spent sleeping in, creating something constructive, fucking, or hell, even playing Sega Genesis.
So while the more liberal minded can sit back and deflect arrows in the name of religions they are not usually even moderately involved in, I can just sit back and laugh at all of them while doing speed runs on Sonic 2. What's the bigger waste of time?
Well I can sure as hell tell you which is more satisfying, at any rate.
All religions are divisive by nature. They all create an us versus them mentality.
Nothing you can do about it. As long as there are people teaching that believing what they believe means reaping grand rewards from their higher power and not believing means suffering and death and believing in something else makes you evil that's the way the world is going to work.
People will continue to get angry at one another, hate one another, and kill one another over this. It's been going on for thousands of years it's not going to stop now.
People will preach tolerance but find that they're only preaching to the choir. You can be as tolerant as you want and personally I don't care what anybody believes as long as they're not hurting anybody else or trying to force their beliefs on to others through law and politics, but the extreme fringes of every religion are never going to be tolerant and these fringes exist because of what the religions themselves teach.
And this is like the third or fourth topic in Off Topic that has become a religious debate so that's all I'm going to say in this thread.
Please show me one religion that isn't sexist in some regard. Every religion has horrible things in its history, and all of them have ideals and practices today that others consider unacceptable. I find it quite hard to point the finger at one and defend another.
I assume you're an atheist, right?Quote:
Islam is nothing more than the perverted ideology of a freak named Muhammed.
It's true. People are sexist and biggoted, and people invented religeon. It follows then that religeon will be too. But, decent people whether "believers" or not, will not be so small minded and practice their lives in a more considerate fashion. Religeon is a completely seperate issue to sexism and biggotry, the danger is in lots of people being part of a brother / sisterhood that has the two things intermingled to such a degree that they all think to be religeous is to be decent. It's worse if they think having only their religeon is necessary to be decent.
Like the evil man from Del Monte. I'm an atheist, but I'm not intrinsically good or bad because of that fact, I am either because I choose to be.
I also like Sega games.
Who cares what some cheaply built, no name, inane website has to say on religious matters? Shouldn't people make up their own minds?
Say... I personally believed that all religions are guilty of mentally abusing children (child abuse) to propagate their continued existences. Would that alone change someone's mind about their identified beliefs?
No, I called YOU a white supremacist because you are a fucking racist and have proven that many many times over the past few years that I am browsing this forum.
I am not a friend of Islam. At all. I would say that Islam is a real threat to modern civilization, but so is your racism and so could be Catholicism. The difference at the moment is that Islam has a lot more activists running around killing people and I don't see that changing for at least the next couple decades.
I am surprised at the number of angry responses in this thread, totally opposite of what I expected. At the religion and philosophy forums I go to, this stuff is laughed at because of its irony that I pointed out. The guy has a really amusing hyberbolic way of describing things and I find most of his articles on other subjects to also be rather hilarious. If you see his documentary version of this website on youtube, the dramatic music and bad dialogue are a real hoot!
It's simply a position on belief, not dogma or even a complete world view in itself. With that said, lacking belief in the face of lacking evidence for belief is A-okay in terms of being the correct default position.
Now is it acceptable or tolerable? Well yeah sure. Any benign or moderate belief can be tolerated. That includes moderate religion, although moderate religion isn't exempt from being in error at its core.
Yes it is a hoot that someone so blind and small minded can make something so comedic, but the problem is that some people take this seriously. Richard Dawkins argues that all religeon should be stopped (how exactly is anyone's guess) because the fact that it is there creates the environment in which extremism can flourish.
It's not that much of a laugh if thought about in those terms, because not everyone is necessarily intelligent enough to see the irony here. A bit like an American not getting an English joke (see what I did there?!).
*Please don't ban me from the forum!*
Yes. So is being spiritual, just as long as you do your best not to press those views on others. Discussion of the views is certainly OK but not in a "you are wrong" manner. Religion is not fine, however, as it organizes people into what basically amounts to a giant cult. Remember, being spiritual and being religious is not the same thing.
Ja. I think his worst posts were deleted, but here's a nice compilation with some of the highlights I stumbled across when browsing his remaining posts:
Most (if not all) religion is just fascism in disguise.
