But what if we want to play our games?
Do they have their museum pieces working during open hours? If not, do they accept cosmetically sound but electronically not working donations??? ;)
On a side note, I just noticed the target dates for exhibit opening. It ends September 30th, 2012? Wow! Just in time for the apocalypse!
Thanks for bringing this one up. I'm voting as we speak. :D
I wish there were more choices or more categories.
I'm a bit confused, are the polls for voting on things not open yet? When I click on an era I get nothing.
Me neither. Do we need to download a specific flash viewer or something?
Never mind, it's just really REALLY slow.
I need to flip out at the PS1 RPG section. 2 of the 3 games in that section were originally on the Saturn for crying out loud.
Ok, time for a huge WHAT THE FUCK bitch fest.
Ok, first as I mentioned, we have Saturn games listed in as PS1 games. Ok I can live with this I guess since they were only released on the PS1 in the US. But then we get to the PC section, and we have Diablo 2 listed in the Target Genre. What the fuck. That's an online RPG, not a shooting game like the others in that genre.
For the N64, for Adventure games we have Zelda, Zelda, and Paper Mario. Now I know the N64 has a small library, but come on. There is more than that on the system as far as adventure games go.
For the Strategy Genre on the Saturn we have Command and Conquer, SimCity 2000, and Blazing Heroes. This is ridiculous, did they pick these out of a hat? What about Dragon Force? Shining Force 3? Those are better Strategy games that fit better into this genre. Hell Sakura Wars fits better into this genre as a Saturn exclusive. And considering that 2 are listed in the PC section already that makes this even more irritating.
I hope someone can change these choices before the exhibit is done, this is just an insult as a Saturn fan really.
This website is kind of a mess.
I'm happy that there's going to be an art exhibit dedicated to video games at the Smithsonian though.
Their genres are a bit screwy though I don't know who exactly thought them up.
The first 3 VF games have been on display since 98, so I guess Sega made their mark already.
voting is down at the moment.

this is an art exhibition, so be sure to vote for games that you think are visually spectacular or boast innovative design!
some of the choices are brutal
adventure or pitfall on the 2600? its a shame only one can win
