I just wanted to say that the "Love it or leave it" motto perpetuated here is kinda screwed up.
If an observation or a critique is semantically correct and cogent ( and obviously, it's not offensive to anybody or anything ), there's no good reason - other than vanity or arrogance - that it should not be taken into consideration, especially when you're making something for ( or that has the direct participation of ) an audience.
Very much this. I don't run a youtube channel or anything but I am a sax player. I've gigged quite a bit as both an amateur and a professional. People will nitpick your shit to death. I once had a guy tell me I didn't let a note "breath" enough before starting the next phrase. You got to take the good with the bad; the sensible with the senseless.Quote:

I've spent 10 years trying to make the forums as decent and fun as possible, listening to feedback and suggestions. I've never called anyone shitty or whiners, or said that they were beneath me. This whole forum exists because of my taking people's views into consideration. I will always do that when possible, because otherwise, there's no point to having the forum in the first place. There is a limit though, and it's impossible to please everyone. I can't stop people from leaving, and it's going to happen no matter what I do.Quote:

Now let's say that there's a guy which uses professional video and audio equipment, has a big background into video editing/processing, cares to use modded consoles in order to achieve the best possible video capture quality, carefully writes the scripts for each episode, has a studio in his house, etc. and has just broken the 100,000 subscribers mark with his YT gaming show.
Then you are there following his show for years, contributing with ideas for new episodes, constantly sharing it across your own network, etc. One day you notice that there's something weird with his video captures and then you see that some other members of the forum where it got his first subscribers are also pointing it out. You see that the guy responsible for the show reacts badly so you let it go and don't say anything.
But then it's brought up again and you have just watched the latest episode and found some of the video capture noticeably off in terms of colors. Then you go ahead and carefully try to break down the issue and show it to him in one post.
Is that "bitch and whine"? Are you a fool for posting about that?
Details like that are in the same league of the other tons of details that he cares so much about and which many people may say that they don't care about, but in the end of day the combination of all that plays an important role in what makes you easily notice what is a 100 subscribers maximum-grade show and what is a AAA show with potential for more than a million of subscribers.
