So none one of these look as close to pixel perfect emulation footage as those of Joe's higher quality captures. But I know what you mean. Without the scanlines of older TVs to fill in this gap for either connection type, it doesn't look as good. Looks more blocky or blurry depending on connection type used.

I think Game Sack is a fun show and I've found some good game recommendations from those two.

I'm pretty certain that the Genesis capture of Earthworm Jim was done by Joe in that video. What you're talking about is pretty rare, like a game that Joe isn't going to run out and buy because it is too expensive, and that is where the emulated gameplay comes into play.Quote:

Well I hope we're not including 3D games. Otherwise what resolution did Dreamcast normally run 2D games at. And S-Video is nice happy medium connection for older consoles.

i mean...Game Sack is a show where Joe goes to great lengths to capture stuff on original hardware. the X68000 ep is one of my favorites, as a result of this - you get to learn all kinds of things about lesser-known (and influential) hardware, and you're seeing it about as accurate as feasibly possible.
i know i'm retreading old ground here & it's a moot point with dude gone, but it seems especially nitpcky to harp on these things (especially without having tried a production nearly on their level), and worse yet, in no way constructive if the content creator outright asked it to be left alone. having read back on what i'd missed of the thread at the time, it's a shame he took it to heart & said what he did, but i can see why he'd get fed up. the last page or two kinda reinforces that.

Thief is pedant? Yes, he is. But so is Joe, who was pedant countless times to lots of people in many different occasions in this very forum.
Thief's contribution to our community is next to zero compared to Joe's, I get that; but once in the forum, regardless if you're a newcomer or one of the moderators (like Joe was) you gotta learn how to handle the criticism towards your output (be it a post, a review or a YT show) as well as you handle your criticism towards other people IF you want to be part of it.
Game Sack is still out there for you to watch it as much as you want. Joe's posts and articles are all still up and accessible.
And people come and go all the time.
Let's move on!
