The wonderful creations of the people behind Toaplan, Taito, Data East, Raizing, Compile, among many others, are left to shit and with it goes a good part of videogame history.
Of course, this could change if those big-time gaming websites ( or youtubers, for that matter ) were actually interested in preserving and promoting the history and culture of videogames, but that's not really what they're all about ( just as most game mags back in the day ); instead, what we get are those crappy top-whatever lists, which are more of a popularity contest, spiced with a good deal of blind nostalgia, than anything.
For anyone that truly likes games and their history that kind of brain-dead, narrow minded view is both poisonous and very damaging in the long run.
