Meh that is one of the most overrated Saturn games ever.
That rules. Its one of my all time favorites and that fixes one of my only complaints.
Yes! Another game to add to my most wanted this year!
Hope this comes to PS3 (and Wii) as well :|
The best part about this is the potential for 8 player online, not to mention playing online with my old college roomate. We used to play the hell out of this game.
I totally agree.
When I bought Guardian Heroes last year I was disappointed with it. Everyone brings it up to Streets of Rage 2 or Turtles in Time level of gameplay, and in actuality I found it to be really clunky and stiff. The sprites are jagged, and while there's a lot of neat features and extras, the game just didn't live up to expectations for me.
That being said, I'm glad of all games this is getting a re-release, as SEGA doesn't care about anything from the Saturn days really. This and NiGHTS are the only two games I can actually think of that were re-released from that era. This is especially good because hopefully this will bring down the demand of this title, $80 is pretty pricey for a game that's simply meh
Guardian Heroes is easily my favourite game for the Saturn, I think it is simply wonderful in every possible way!
I thought the Fatal Fury style background tier approach to a beat-em up was neat, and I liked the experience system and leveling up at the end of the levels. The alternate stories and bantering dialog is probably why the game is so well regarded though. I think Streets of Rage 2's position of best beat-em up is unchallenged, but Guardian Heroes took plenty of my playtime.
First Radiant Silvergun, and now Guardian Heroes?!
Boo yeah! :D
I 100% agree, despite owning the game. And the XBLA version looks awful.Quote:

IDk what the issue is cuz its look better than that pixelated shit that was on the Saturn. My biggest pet peeve with this game is there is way to much shit going on at the same time, to many of the 45 characters in vs. mode are worthless and the co-op play is only friggin 2 players. We went through this shit with the 16-bit consoles but u mean to tell me that we cant get 4 co-op play with the Saturn. The closet we got was Three Dirty Dwarves.
Sega of Japan would like to have a word with you: http://ages.sega.jp/onsale.html
There's Virtua Racing, Virtua Fighter II, Dragon Force, Last Bronx, Fighting Vipers, Panzer Dragoon, Decathlete (Athlete Kings), Virtual On, Dynamite Deka (Die-Hard Arcade), as well as remakes of the Saturn's Sega Ages releases.
No it doesn't. This actually looks like a super amateurish eye cancer inducing attempt at an remake. None of the original developers are involved, that's for sure.
