I have 2 model 2-compatible power supplies here, made by Tec Toy.
They are HUGE and ready to output 17w!
I'm in lack of model 1's power supplies (1 for a Japanese Mega Drive Model 1 and 1 for a Sega CD Model 2) here and, in Brazil, it's kinda rare.
I would like to know if it's possible to mod these power supplies to "fit" the Model 1 plug. Is it just a matter of plug type or not?
Any help is welcome, thanks...
Swap the plug and you're ready to go, just make sure you get polarity right
Wrong forum... I wish people would think a little before making threads. Blast processing is for PROGRAMMING the MD/CD/32X. Anything hardware related goes in Tech Aid. It's pretty OBVIOUS if you just use your head as more than a hat rack. :shame:

I'm not here for anyone's admiration, so that doesn't bother me. The WHOLE POINT behind making Blast Processing a separate forum was to give programmers a place separate from all the hardware stuff. Just because there is the OCCASIONAL thread on hardware (often on accident because the OP didn't yet realize the forums are separated because they saw another hw thread here) doesn't mean you can just post another hw thread here. You're a noob who doesn't have any idea why this forum was created in the first place. If you look at Tech Aid, threads JUST LIKE THIS ONE push everything off the first page in maybe a week. Threads like yours are also created without ever looking to see if the problem has already been dealt with in an existing thread. So us programming dudes petitioned for our own forum where NO STUPID HARDWARE THREADS would flood the forum. So quit arguing with someone who knows what they're talking about - you're just making yourself look stupid.

Unless it's a thread about programming, coding, or design, it doesn't go in Blast Processing. This should be in Tech Aid, so I've moved it.
Not trying to defend the OP, but I have to say that I too thought 'Blast Processing' was about hardware and software, and that 'Tech Aid' was for repair advice, especially since the Blast Processing section says "THE place for conversations about programming, hacks, homebrews, mods, graphics, etc." :daze:

In that respect, I guess an overclocking thread may be okay as that can affect things slow down seen in Sonic when you lose rings. However, I think that just discussion about an overclocking mod that you're having trouble making work properly probably should be in Tech Aid.

Yes that is true but he said he has 17watt capable power supplies, so 17watt / 9vdc = 1.9amp (rough calc).

We do not have detailed information, but I have doubts about using my 2 Tyco Power Plugs (one for each port) + 2 Sega Taps (one for each Tyco) and extra ICs for mods... I don't know how much energy these things dissipate and using a extra-powered supplier sounds good.
Also, my power supplies of use until now are Japanese, being 100v while it's 110v in my city. It's slowly damaging the Japanese power supplies for sure.
