Virtual Boy!
I walked into my local Hock Shop today and was surprised to see they had a Virtual Boy! It was $129 and I'm debating if I should go back for it.
The system has the stand, visor, controller, AC adaptor, carrying case (Might be Blockbuster rental case or something) and 4 games. The games were Mario Tennis, Jack Bros, Vertical Force, and a Japanese baseball game. All cart only, but they had those dustcover things.

If you like playing games all in Red, go for it. Imo, that's a pretty expensive Red Game Boy with goggles. I vote nay. :o
-
Regardless, it's still a piece of gaming history and that price, it's a steal. Go for it.
-
Jack Bros. is somewhat pricey. That price isn't cheap, but for a VB with that game? Not too bad... :)

I got all that stuff minus the carrying case, but with 6 games, some of them boxed, for about $50. So I would suggest playing on it for awhile to see if you can stand its curious method of 3D before deciding to spend that much on it. Also, look up how to adjust it for your eyes, there's a trick to it.

I used to have 2 of those Virtual Boys, with the case. I'd bought them from Blockbuster, when they were clearing out inventory. I'd sold one of them about 5 years ago, but I still have the other one with every North American game, minus Water World. Water World was even worse than the movie.

YEAH! Jack Bros. can go for $200+ on ebay ALONE!!!
-
Wow! The Last time I checked the price on Jacks Bros. it was around $65. I'm holding on to my complete copy.
-
Don't most people just import Jack Bros? Or are we talking the import going for $200 these days?

At that price I'd say nay. Unless you're a collector, the Virtual Boy really doesn't have anything worth playing for the most part. My favorite game on the system is Vertical Force, and even playing that in Red and Black all the time is a pain.
None of the games are terrible really (Save Red Alarm and Water World, yuck) but none are outstanding either. Mario Clash is meh, Wario Land is probably second-best on the system, Nester's Funky Bowling is meh, Teleroboxer is meh, 3D Tetris is meh, Galactic Pinball is meh, Virtual Baseball is meh, everything is just middle of the road. And to top it off, almost all of these games can be played in a better form elsewhere.
If you find one cheap, it's cool to have it for Vertical Force and Wario Land, but the library as a whole is worse than the Game Gear!

I got two systems (has stands, and controllers) with some games for 50 cents each, about one year ago.
I would say don't even brother, unless you got it dirt cheap like i did. However if you're a collector or just want to make more money, seeing that it has jack bros, Vertical Force, and carry case makes me want get and cheak it out.

Im a videogame collector, but i only really collect games and systems i actually want to play, VirtualBoy has NO apeal to me, so i wouldnt pay that kind of money for it. Im not surprised this Jack bros game seem to fetch a good price tho. Obscure systems with few titles tend to get very pricy, due to those collectors who collect EVERYTHING thats rare. It really depends on how eager you are to have a VB, if the Jack bros game really is that pricey, i guess it could be worth getting it?

I'd not bother. There are many cheaper ways to give yourself migraines.
