I thought I would never write in this forum, lol, but I just bought me a 32x with 3 games which are space harrier, star wars, and metal head.
I don't know much about the 32x but I do wish to know what are some of the best games for it or to begin with, no I am not getting that $200 spiderman bs, other than that list me the worthy titles!
EDIT: I also wanna state that I wouldn't be asking this question if the reviews were back up. ;p

That'll give you a nice range of genres to enjoy.

I'm really trying to get after burner CIB for the 32x, if anybody's got a spare cib copy they would like to trade for a sega saturn model 2
There are a lot of 32X games that fall under the "acquired taste for an underdog system" category, and I enjoy many of them. But there are only a few that stand 100% on their own feet as strong, first-tier titles that don't require apologies, historical context, or camp value to appreciate.
The main ones that come to mind are Virtua Fighter, Virtua Racing, Space Harrier, NBA Jam TE, and probably Blackthorne. Depending on your tastes, you can add Shadow Squadron, Star Wars, and maybe After Burner to the list. All of these games basically accomplish what they're trying to do.
In the next tier down, you'll find botched ports like Mortal Kombat II (wildly overrated, and inferior in most ways to the SNES port) and Doom, and mediocre exclusives like Kolibri (pretty and creative, but not very much fun) and Tempo (visually cluttered Poochie platformer). Some people will rep for Knuckles Chaotix, but I'm not one of them; same for Zaxxon -- maybe someday this game will make sense to me, but not yet.
Darxide and Spiderman seem OK, I've played them a bit on my EverDrive but found the former confusing and the latter tedious.
Oh, and there are a bunch of "why-is-this-game-on-this-system?" titles that don't really take advantage of the 32X at all, like the wrestling games, Pitfall, World Series Baseball, and so on. Many of these are inferior to ports on other systems, or even on the "unenhanced" Genesis itself.
None of the five 32X CD games (six if you count Surgical Strike, but good luck finding a copy) are exclusives. Most offer mild improvements on the regular Sega CD versions, though Fahrenheit 32X has messed-up sound and Corpse Killer 32X allegedly has some kind of issue too.
Honestly some of my favorite 32X games are the most-maligned ones, like Motocross Championship and Cosmic Carnage. Metal Head is another one I like, though it gets wildly varying reviews -- some people think it's great, some think it's garbage. I'm somewhere in the middle, but it still manages to be more fun than most, and obviously it's entertainingly ridiculous.
And if all else fails, there's always the golf game with the world's longest title.
32x is a waste of money on every level except pointless collecting. It truly has no must have games. And Knuckle Chaotix is terrible.

Shadow Squadron and Virtua Racing are cheap and awesome. As far as more expensive titles, I like Blackthorne and Star Trek.
Don't listen to the nay-sayers, the 32X is WELL worth owning. Any Genesis owner without one should be shot on general principle. ;)
There are a few MUST HAVE games on the 32X, with a surprising (for the total size of the library) number of good games. They've pretty well been covered already, but my advice is look for a good sale on the 32X, get the cheap recommendations, and get a flash cart (if you don't already have one for the Genesis) for the rare/expensive titles like DarXide.
For folks that don't quite get DarXide, it's a 3D version of Maelstrom.

Hehe...I love this kind of brutal honesty. Whenever I ask questions about systems and games that I'm curious about, I often fear that I'm asking the wrong people - the kind that tend to over-praise something that they're often emotionally attached to. I do like opinions that can balance that out a little. I mean, there are games that I love, but I often can understand why someone else might hate it.Quote:
