I've noticed that when ever I start a game and there is an option to change button config I always set up as follows
A - Main gun or action
B - Jump or secondary gun etc
C - usually change options etc
I've tried other configs but feel most a ease with A button been the one used the most. Any one else have to change or just leave as default trusting to programmers to have it set-up best?

A is jump lol. That's how Mario did it.
If jump is not assigned to C, everything is wrong.

The standard configuration sucks.
I bend over and take it the way its given to me.
Always trigger A for shooting or using a weapon, B for jumping and C for selecting. I always found it the best for me that way by having the primary action button the closest towards the middle, especially when I started playing Battletoads as a toddler. If only SoR had the ability to change controller configs. I always hated accidentally pressing A and wasting a police special. I would've configured it to the aforementioned preference above.
I've seen and had lots of 3-button controllers with horribly worn out C buttons.
Thankfully, the B-button is usually treated well, so my configuration is already better.
I always do standard.
Though in Kid Chameleon I set it to run automatically.

This is the master stroke. Every platformer afterwards should have copied this. Kid Chameleon isn't a barnburner for speed but I probably didn't switch to regular walking more than 3% when I beat it.Quote:

I usually tend to stick to what the developers planned for the controls. The only exception is Comix Zone, I would always change jump from B to C; mainly because I accidentally pushed C to jump across a gap in the first page and I realized that jump was B...
