Eh, it wasn't that great; It did come with Strider 1 though. The funny thing about that game, was that the disc that was labeled Strider 2, was Strider 1 and vice versa for the other disc. It's also a 2.5D game.

Ive come to find that I enjoy all generations of gaming except PS2/GC/XBOX era. That era really fucking sucked. I think everythings turned around and got back on track to a point. Wii is still a plague on gaming though.
Saturn has some of the best 32bit 2d games where as playstation always had the better 3d games.
That's funny. The PS2/GC/XBOX era and the 16-bit era are my favorites. I just think that the PS2 era is where 3D console gaming really started to hit it's stride with high quality games that are still fun to go back to and play - Two analogue sticks really made a difference, and the 3D graphics of the era aren't nearly as painful to revisit as the 32-bit era. I think Sega's decision to only throw one analogue stick on the Dreamcast controller was a really short-sighted one.
I can understand where you are going with the Wii. Although I think it's ok for short bursts of diversion, and a handful of decent games, it's also easy to understand how so many people that were roped in by the hype were ultimately disappointed with it - I don't know one person that owns one (including children in the family) that didn't tire of it quickly.
Although there are some current gen games that I really love, the current gen hasn't impressed me half as much as the last gen did.
Another great 16/32 bit blend = Machine Hunter. Definitely on the easy side, but that's fine as it supports 2P very well. The graphics might've been done on the Genesis, but the game wasn't, so there.
@ Loggo = Good taste, that's a cool game.
I always did have my eye on Heart of Darkness; really should get it.
Another 32-bit game I liked back in the day was MDK; perhaps Shiney's last great game.
I thought Shiny's other PSX games, Wild 9 and R/C Stunt Copter, were great too. Messiah was also pretty rad; too bad they canceled the console versions.
Damn I remember Dave Perry saying the Saturn version of Wild 9's was going to be better than the PSx version. Then it got canned. :(
Dynamite Cop on DC is cool, you'd like it.
I got really sick of looking at ugly, ugly, ugly textures on the PS One for a while, and didn't touch any of the games in years. Now I am on a bit of a PS One kick, and while I'm still not impressed by the graphics, there are some games I have found impressive for the hardware AT THE TIME.
Most notably, and I don't remember it running this way, is Chrono Cross. It struggles a lot of the time to keep a steady framerate, but to see it occasionally jump to what appears to be at least close to 60 frames is mind bogglingly, especially when you look at how beautiful that game really is. You can just tell how hard they pushed the hardware in order to get it looking right, and it payed off. Even my wife, who is usually overly critical of games on old hardware, has been wanting to watch me play it.
I also played Jet Moto again recently...Christ is that game ever fucking hard.
Btw since you're all about enhance ps1 games.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=am00BzkIMlw Game looks amazing.
Some games to try
Brave Fencher Musashi
Bushido Blade 2
Alundra 2
Legend of Legaia
XenoGears
Just to name a few.
I really liked the first Jet Moto back when it was still fresh. I remember when the 2nd one came out and thought the graphics got worse. They're both really ugly now, but at least the soundtrack is still pretty cool.
