Is CRC 2-26 good for the 9-pin controller connectors in the Model 1s?

^Bought this stuff at Home Depot for less than 3 bucks. I've always had issues getting my controllers into their ports on my Model 1 and finally decided to lube them up. I was also looking at this stuff-

But it is expensive as hell and has very little to work with.

So I sprayed the CRC 2-26 fluid into both ports (it bubbled up), waited a little bit, plugged a controller in and out, then left it to dry. I also sprayed some of it into the RF port on the back of my Genesis because of the same difficulty I was having with my controllers.

I was just wondering if this will have any negative effects on my system sometime in the future.

The controllers go in and out easier, but still not as easy as I'd hope.

You could also just use isopropyl alcohol.

Alcohol evaporates, and technically isn't good to put on metal contacts. It's more of a quick remedy to CLEANING contacts. It also doesn't lubricate. I don't really need to clean those 9-pin D-subminiatures. I just need a lubricant that will last a long time but won't have any negative effects to the system.
