Is there a single fucking Hucard game that doesnt suck? It seems like everything worth while was CD only.

Sure, some of those aren't great games but they don't SUCK! There are tons of amazing games on HuCards. Don't even get me started on the japanese games.
Most of the US releases are at least "good" actually, what types of games do you like?

Magical Chase
Military Madness
Galaga 90
Bloody Wolf
Ninja Spirit

Looking for platformers, action rpgs, rpgs and shooters. Dont mind if they're japanese only releases. Nothing overly pricey. Don't mention any hu game over $25. I just feel like the super limited space of a hucard was a major disadvantage. And the systems pathetic lack of ram in its none cd version.
Actually the Turbografx had a better suck : good ratio of games than most consoles of it's time.
What oldskool said is true. I don't know what all of these go for, but here is a list of US releases that people have recommended for gameplay related reasons.
Aero Blasters
Air Zonk
Blazing Lazers

Turrican
Veigues Tactical Gladiator [Game Arts]
No love for KLAX?
also, Salamander hasn't been mentioned yet.
Platformers: A few really nice ones (Bonk series, Legendary Axe series, Ninja Spirit somewhat, Shockman) but then there's a ton of mediocre ones like Keith Courage.
Action RPGS: Cadash, a million times better than the genesis version in every way, Neutopia series (actually an action adventure), Legend of Valkyries (action adventure)
Rpgs: Can't think of any that are good
Shooters: Star Soldier series, Aero Blasters, Blazing Lazers, SOLDIER BLADE, Magical Chase, Final Soldier
The "meat" of the system is in the CD addon, if you go by HuCard alone you'll be disappointed. It was relegated to the "alternative media" position too soon. Look at SF2 to see what it could do if used more.
Also, I'm not sure how much of a grey area this is, but if you ever want to play the US version of Magical Chase without mortgaging your house or something, I recommend the Neo Flash Card which has a built in save battery. You can play pretty much any game (US or JP) off there once you've got the ROM for it, so it's also a good way to test out a game on real hardware if you're not sure you want to invest in a real copy.
Legendary AX is my game, really fun.
Nope, Magical Chase is a HuCard. It was released near the end of the Turbo's life by TTI, so it came in a box with plastic tray like several other games instead of a full case with the cool holder. Dynastic Hero is another release around that time, but it is on CD and is also hard to get ahold of, but not as notorious as Magical Chase when it comes to pricing.
If it was my choice, I'd ban you for trolling. :daze:
The only correct answer to this is "all of them."
:? You have much to learn, young grasshopper.Quote:
I thought magic chase was a cd game. can you play cd games off the neo flash card via the hucard port O_O that would be amazing.
You are aware that the CD drive can ready any CD disc, right? There wouldn't be much need to play CD games on a flash card. Anyway, you need the HuCard slot for your System 3.0 card or Arcade card.
Thanks for the recommendations in this thread as I just bought a TG and am starting to look at hu-cards to buy.
So far I have:
Blazing Lazers
Pacland
Dragon Spirit
China Warrior
Legendary Axe
Victory Run
Vigilante
Galaga '90
Get Soldier Blade, it's the best HuCard game.
You need Alien Crush and Devil's Crush. Also Bomberman '93. Oh, then Soldier Blade. Perhaps Neutopia. Some Bonk would be good also. Have you considered Ninja Spirit? R-Type is an obvious choice. How about Air Zonk? Splatterhouse is really cool. Keith Courage isn't as bad as most people say. Dungeon Explorer is a game that some people like. Military Madness is a lot of fun. How about...
... Yeah, you have tons of choices. Your next step should be acquiring a PC Engine Duo.
The next games I want are the pinball ones, R-Type and Ninja Spirit which I LOVE!
Not a fan of platformers at all or RPG's so I will avoid them.
I play more Hu cards than Cd games
even with a duo-r I play more Hu cards for both my tg-16 and PCE. It's all about the awesome shmups like the soldier series and static screen platformers (whats the real name for them?) like Parasol Stars, Rainbow Islands, DonDokoDon etc. and pinball games.
What I've been having a lot of fun at is the Caravan mode in a lot of games. You have a 2 or 5 minute score mode. There is high score boards at shmups.system11.org and pcenginefx and anyone can get in on the action, just make sure you take a pic of your high score or nobody will believe you if you get the highest score.
The PC Engine/Turbografx-16 had plenty of good HuCard games:
Alien Crush
Air Zonk
Atomic Robo-Kid Special
Batman
Blazing Lazers
Bloody Wolf
Bomberman
Bomberman '93
Bomberman '94
Bonk's Adventure
Bonk's Revenge
Bonk 3 - Bonk's Big Adventure
Burning Angels
Cadash
Cloud Master
Coryoon
Darius Plus
Detana Twin Bee
Devils Crush
Don Doko Don
Dungeon Explorer
Final Soldier
Galaga '88
Gradius
Hana Taka Daka (Long Nosed Goblin)
Image Fight
JJ & Jeff
Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu
Legend of Hero Tonma
Legendary Axe
Legendary axe II
Magical Chase
Military Madness
Neutopia
Neutopia 2
New Adventure Island
Ninja Spirit
Ordyne
Parasol Stars
Parodius Da
Psychosis
R-Type
Raiden
Salamander
Samurai Ghost
Side Arms
Sinistron
Soldier Blade
Splatterhouse
Street Fighter II' Champion Edition
Super Star Soldier
Tatsujin (Truxton)
Dragon Saber, the sequel to Dragon Spirit which is also on Hu Card but I prefer on NES.
R Type and Salamander, though I'd waver if you're familiar with their SMS/NES versions.
pass on the Legendary Axes and Bonks. Throw the Neutopias under a train.
For shooter recommendations you're best off with Kamahl and Jesse813.
In fine, my answer is Probably a few, but save your cash for the CDs.
Xevious and Out Run both deserve mentions as very enjoyable arcade conversions.
I think it is pretty clear that the original poster is ignorant, has poor taste in games, and/or can't appreciate 8-bit gaming.
Neutopia `1 and 2
I too feel that the Sega Genesis was superior but I would choose a better way to say it. The PCE did have an issue with 3RD party support and there were some BLATENT rip off’s or copies of games. I feel the MD and the SNES represented the 16-Bit era better then the TG16. Again I do not wish to get into a dramatic tirade between the two systems, just my thoughts.
