In this economy? Good luck with that. It is definitely a cool piece though.
Anybody have a spare million they can shell out via Paypal? :D
I'll stick with my tetris pirate cart for now  ...
...
I wonder if I could sell my copy for that much? :p
man this guy got some serious stuff for sale way to expensive though. would love to own that tetris
A million is ridiculous. Maybe somewhere in the 10s of thousands, but that's about it. I don't care who signed it or how rare it is. I'll be reproing this baby when the time comes.
Goddamn. Yup, it's the guy with the hair. Are there any pics of the other copies of this game confirmed to exist OTHER than this one? Also, what's the story on HOW he got this?
Aren't video games like baseball cards? Having them signed actually reduces their value.
JY
Not when they're signed by a legend among legends. I wonder why he's selling off all his rare stuff? I don't get it.
Somehow I find the whole auction mildly insulting. Like someone is trying to capitalize on my hobby, because as we know plenty of video game collectors will cough up a million dollars on a whim, that's how stupid we are.
Choices:
A) Potentially be a millionaire
B) Have some plastic old game carts
This is nice (and it shows that ROMs != no collector's value =P ), but the best part isalso lol he's selling a copy of MSX Aleste marked KONAMIQuote:
Platform: PC Engine
If anyone has a million to cough up for this chances are that at even considering it, they'd have to be loaded already.
Just because the russian geezer signed it doesnt mean it's suddenly worth 100x it's value..
Well, my offer is in...

Fingers crossed!!
...and this is why us ROM guys think all you "real hardware collectors" have mental issues.
(yes, i will offering this buttmunch $1 too)
DIBS!!!
Haha fools!!!
Holy crap that thing is being sent freight!
Theres gonna be armed guards, helicopters flying overhead, a guy with it handcuffed to him in a steel briefcase, and roads blocked off for miles!
Alright fellow Sega-16ers we gotta go in and raid that train on it's way to the guy that buys it.
What did I say recently in the "Legend of Wukong" thread?
"The exorbitant prices that some individuals charge on ebay and elsewhere are totally ridiculous. I needed to get to get that last comment off my chest!"
That comment should have been placed here!
11,000 euros? For a game cartridge? A piece of plastic containing 8 to 16 megabits of data that can easily be duplicated?
Even though I am a fan of the console, I have to say that this guy lacks any iota of common sense! I'll go as far as to say that anyone willing to play even close to what he paid is an even bigger idiot!
I can think of alot of other things in the world that I would rather spend a million dollars (heck even $5,000) rather this kind of gaming related item(s)!
He doesn't actually plan on selling it right now it looks like. I came across this quote
from the questions on this item.Quote:
Q: Hello, I am really interesting in your Power League Gold. Do you have some others rare PC Engine games ? I am also very interesting in your Megadrive Tetris, what is your price for it with the Power League Gold ? Thank you very much for your answer Thibaut Jul-06-11
A: Hello Thibaut, not so rare. I will list many rare games this and next week. Regards. For the Tetris, is not for sale right now, but I'm open to offers, who knows.
whatever, he just wants to show off his stuff
You'd have to be a certifiable nut to drop 10k on a game cartridge. Video games in the higher price range just seem like a bad investment, there's only going to be a handful of people, if that willing to spend that much money on a game. I can more understand somebody spending a few thousand for a Nintendo World Championship due to the history around it.
Nuttier than Gary Busey eating squirrel shit
I'd take that million to purchase Sega and put them to work on a Neo Genesis console :D
we should all pitch in the game, that way, I'll have it on mondays, you can have it on tuesdays, he'll have it thursdays and so on
i feel some jealousy in this thead. I think all this is pretty funny. He is showing off and hope for some fat banker awash with cash printed by Bernanke and its cronies at the FED
Yeah I get that there are only like 10 copies of this thing, but a million dollars, come on. Just the practicality of making that sale is off. How many people with millions of dollars to toss around are into retro game collecting, and even if there is one, I doubt they got to be millionaires by throwing their money around like that.
A spaniard owns one of them. Signed by the author. He didn't pay that much, though. My brother knows him and has actually seen (through glass) his copy :P
EDIT: LOL!!! I just read the whole thread. If it's Mundocombo, he's the guy my brother knows and that's indeed his copy :D
woah
Here is the seller's original thread about him purchasing it:

Yeah, I've seen Thibaut on some threads on PCEngineFX as well. The dude has deep pockets and a lot of PCE protos, makes sense that he'd be interested in something as one of a kind as this. Funny note though, I believe the seller actually bought this copy of Tetris off of Adol (another big PCE collector) a couple years back for €11K.
Yeah, I read that.
Tatsujin (member name, not the game) over at that site should get it. His PCE collection is awesome and he did it all without deep pockets. Real nice guy. I wonder if he's got the Gold All-Star Power League HuCard? I know he has all the Special Version games, and I'm pretty sure he has Darius Alpha.
I've never hung out with Thibaut or seen his collection, but I'm sure he's cool. I wonder how his collection is?
