A pointless topic perhaps but I hate EA cartridges and was wondering how many of the Road Rash games are available in normal (non EA cartrides). I know the RR2 cart is normal in the US but what about RR1 and RR3?

I don't really know, but the Brazilian releases might be.
every Road Rash I ever played or rented as a kid was on the huge EA cart
USA
I checked ebay, road rash 2 is only one in smaller cart form and others in sqaure form.
If you hate sqaure size cartridges so much, why don't you buy ones that has cases or box with it so it can hide sqaure size cartridges from your point view on shelf.
I just checked for it on a brazilian auction site and there was no brazilian version of Road Rash I and II up for auction. This doesn't mean that they don't exist. I have no idea about Road Rash II, but I'm almost sure that there is no brazilian version for the Road Rash I. I think it was released too early to be available here as a local release.
Road Rash I didn't receive a reprint in any territory as a normal sized case.
Be aware that all three games have been pirated to Hell and back, so if you see one in a normal case it may very well be counterfeit.
You're right about that, but I have my ways to identify an original Tec Toy cartridge, as I have seem many of them during my life.
Also, I had a pirate version of Road Rash I that came on a japanese cartridge shell. The clamshell was eerily similar to the american release. So, for a while I thought I had an original version of the japanese Road Rash, which I discovered only later, don't actually exist. So, I opened the cartridge and verified it was counterfeit.
I don't have it anymore, I've sold about 2 weeks ago, but I can post pictures if anyone is interested.
Actually, the original Road Rash was released in Japan by Electronic Arts Victor... unfortunately all I have at the moment are box pics, not cart pics :/ However, there are three EA games that were released in Japan on normal carts: Blockout, Populous, and Sword of Sodan — Sega published these.

I own RRII in regular cart, but I've never even seen 1 or 3 on regular carts. If either exists I'd like to know because I don't like playing those big EA carts on my portable.
Here are the pics:

Finding this darn thing was harder than it should have been. It's not that it's rare or valuable etc. It's just all the stock photos that make it hard to sort out. I'm glad II was the reissue. I'm not a fan of the ugly sprites in III.

hmm!
i didnt think any EA game came in anything other than the large format cases?! cool
OK, wait, I'm confused. So Road Rash II came out in the United States using BOTH form factors, right? Did the cardboard box release have anything to do with Majesco?
I've had two loose copies and they've both used the standard cart shell, but I have a sleeve for the game that wants to fit into the larger, EA-style wide case.
I'm the opposite. I specifically would only buy the Road Rash games in the longer EA cartridge format. If it's an EA game, I want their distinctive yellow tab cart.
I'd hunt down the small carts when it comes to EA games - those yellow tabs are a fucking pain when it comes to opening the casing to give the board a clean.
