I created a thread about this game about two years ago, but I suppose it was lost in the hack. I had given this game up for vaporware a long time ago, but I guess now it's coming out after all.
Check it out: it's a "Metroidvania" game set in the Aliens universe. And it's developed by WayForward, who rocks. AND it's being published by Sega, which makes this announcement very site-appropriate.

I mean it, I've had the leaked trailer of this in my youtube favorites for years now.
I had a much shorter video in my original thread, but it had the same song (that was also before it adopted the "Infestation" title). I hope to hell this game ends up as incredible as it looks. That animation is amazing.

Can't tell you how excited I am for this game. I'm a huge fan of WayForward, Alien(s), and the Metroid style of exploration. Plus it's no secret that the DS is maybe my favorite console ever. I just wish I didn't have to wait until October to get my hands on it.

When I first saw the original trailer, I assumed it would follow Contra 4's level based/run-n-gun format. In retrospect, having it in the metroidvania style is so perfect for the source material (especially considering how Metroid seemed to have been inspired by the Alien series in the first place) that I'm amazed no one had done it before.
Every time I write the DS off, another awesome game gets announced. Monster Tale, Kirby Mass Attack, and now this. I don't even know if this Alien game will be the system's swan song - it's like developers are fighting over the last word.
Listening to Jerry Goldsmith's Alien soundtrack, really getting in da moooooooood for sum Alienz.
