Haven't played Mystic Defender but I have played it's prequel, "Spellcaster" on the Master System.
It sux. Peacack King is moar better.

MYSTIC DEFENDER was one of my earliest Genny titles. it was also one of those several games that i had traded off
back in the early nineties.
i was able to get it back in the early 2000's, finding an old rental copy for sale at "HASTINGS books, music&video"
fast forward almost ten years, and i have recently managed to find out what the U.S. localization was based upon,
and was able to track down the only copy of the original game on EBAY at the time;

the game, called "Kujaku ō 2: Geneij ō" is based off of a mid to late-1980's Anime and Manga series called "Kujaku ô, Legend Of The Peacock King"
