Need a bit of help with Genesis RGB/VGA and LCD monitor (works, but a few issues)
Hello,
I was trying out RGB from my Genesis to a Samsung SyncMaster 204B using the A/V out on the Genesis (R, G, B, C-Sync, Ground).
Looks pretty good. All the colors are present (R, G, B) but they were a bit washed out. Since then I've added 75 ohm resistors to the R, G, B lines and the color, saturation is alot better. It's still just a bit off...but not bad now.
Next issue I'm having is a 'shimmering' effect. Seems to be associated with the CSync output. Tried adding a few different value resistors (75, 100, 150 ohm) but just gets worse.
Here is a video I did on youtube, it's starts at 7min. 14sec, where you can see what's going on:

Someone made a suggestion that I add a LM1881 IC to get a clean(er) Sync signal output.
Much appreciated if anyone can give me some advice to eliminate the 'shimmering'
Also, I was wondering what generates the 15KHz H. signal. Is it the RGB encoder IC (it has an internal oscillator) or an external oscillator or something else externally.
Thanks,
Thomas
