Please name me some good ones.
Even if the game came out for both SNES and Genesis (not counting arcade ports) feel free to mention the game in this thread if it is better than its SNES counterpart.
But I'm really looking for the Genesis exclusive fighters. (No DBZ plz) The YuYu Hakusho game seemed fun if memory servers me correctly.
Oh and I HATE eternal champions.

Yu Yu Hakusho is the best one, and really the only one that matters.
Is there a story? Has it been translated? Guess I will have to watch an OVA then go play the game for motivation . I love fighting games that have animes attached to them
It's been fan translated, the game does not have a story unfortunately, which is a shame (and really stupid) considering the source material.Quote:

I owned a YuYu Hakusho fighitng game for the TurboGrafx CD that was like FIRST PERSON.... weird indeed. But once you learned how to play it cool things would happen

It always amazed me that SoA never bought this game over here. I mean really a 4 player fighter should stay over in Japan!?
Even if they had to replace every character with characters from some other popular series (like the gundam game on the snes was replaced with power rangers stuff) it was really dumb on their part no to bring it over.Quote:

My favorite song from Yu Yu Hakusho is Sub-Space 2. Guess that tune was composed by the same guy involved with GH and Alien Soldier (sounds a lot like his style).

Last Battle was a Fist of the NOrth Star side scroller.... surprised no one ever hacked the english verison to contain blood or to translate the japanese version without cencorship.
Heavy Nova
Oh my god, this was a terrible prequel to Black Hole Assault. A game I owned as a small child and hated, wonder how i would like it now.
I love Black Hole Assault, on the PCE CD or Sega CD it just has a style that keeps me interested. I can't stand Heavy Nova, but it is technically more complex than Black Hole Assault.
I've only played Street Smart on the Genesis and wasn't terribly impressed, it seemed like it only had three moves but it has been so long I might be wrong about that. It was fairly fast, if it was a beat-em up instead of a one on one fighter I might have liked it more.
Last Battle is Fist of the North Star, I consider it a sequel to Black Belt, which is also Fist of the North Star. I really enjoy the one on one fighting in both games.

I've played JLA: Taskforce, DD5, and Dragon: A Bruce Lee story on both systems. They're all shit on the SNES too.
Deadly Moves is WAY PAST COOL. The country of Russian is such a nice stage. And Warren... do not mess with him!
You cant even beat the first guy in deadly moves. I have no specials and the guys stats totally outwheigh yours, even on the easiest skill level, all i was able to do was beat him one round.
And im a great 2D figher player. Weird beat em up controls in the game not traditional 2D fighter. THe Idea was good, you level up after fights and raise stats. Maybe my guy did have a special I just could not figure it out. Im gonna FAQ it and see if i was missing something. It seemed like the game with most promise.
After playing all the Genesis 2D fighters in the Library my conclusion is the two best games by far are Fatal Fury 1 and Weaponlord for the Sega Genesis.
I never like Eternal Champs, so dnt kill me its just an opinion. Didnt even like the Sega CD version.
Same here, I don't understand the love for EC.
