I dont want anything with jumping and platforms though, I hate percision jumping in my side scrollers

Toki is cool; more action-oriented than platforming.
Also, there is a thread just like this where I've listed every platform game on the Mega Drive with several recommendations. No action side-scrollers though.

Quack Shot is rock solid. One of the best of the genre.
Vectorman and Comix Zone; good stuff...

Kid Chameleon,Chakan-The Forever Man,Greendog,i will also recomend Mr Nuts as it looks cute but i found it quite a challenge.:p
