Racketboy, Digital Press, Screw Attack. Those are the only three that I can stomach. None of them get nearly as much of my time as this place does though.
www.playstationcollecting.com is good for PSX stuff. I just wish there were more activity on the forums.
Kind of dead over there.
I also like the sega-saturn.co.uk forums, though I haven't been over there in a while. Admin Mick_AKA used to be pretty active here on Sega-16.
Oh and I forgot about a site called PC EngineFX, dedicated to the TurboGrafx. It is a very secluded community and it seems you need to pass some kind of background and wait weeks before you can post.
We also require that you pass a drug test to get in. You pay for it. Also, credit, criminal and sexual predator checks are necessary.
Damn, I don't think I'd ever pass the PCEngineFX registration if one needs to be a sexual predator on top of everything else... And I've never gotten very high scores on the drug test either... :(
:p
Shmups is a really awesome forum. There's a great trading post and they have lots of awesome competitions and tournements.
Racketboy is ok but its like a giant conversation between 4 people and noobs that don't hang around long. And it has no grit, everyone is too nice.
Sega 16 is cool but the topics move too quick and there's too many new topics that are the same shit every week like "top 10 consoles". I wish there was a "view your posts" button next to "whats new" so people could keep up with their posts easier instead of subscribing to threads. There's a nice trading post on here too.
PCenginefx is super cool and has a great chatbox and there's lots of lulz. The members are hardcore though and don't piss them off. Lots of nice trading on there.
NeoGeo has really nice trading too but yeah it's a hostile environment.
DigitPress might be ok if it wasn't so hard to read the forum with that damn black on red. The members will be blind in a couple of years. Such an ugly place.
Assembler is cool to read cause the members have a lot of knowledge and have really awesome collections and hardware to show off and trade. Also has nice threads about game hunting/collecting.
The Village BBS for peeps in florida is really awesome and has a nice community of pinballers and classic arcade collecters. Lots of nice trading
Here's what Digit Press looks like to me:Quote:

The red and black stuff on the main page is awful, I agree.
I've gotta say I like the Red and Black design of Digital Press, for someone who's active on more than one forum I like for them to contrast. Maybe it's just me, but the layout doesn't really hurt my eyes.
It makes one question if Digital Press was once a Virtual Boy fansite. ;)
I think we need to bow our heads in honor of a great forum long fallen.
Lik-Sang forums
They were great, a tight knit community that enjoyed new people which is weird. Some of you may remember it, I certainly do.
