Well, I can scratch Screw Attack off the list of places I will visit. They changed their site and I can no longer log in. I try to create a new password and it wants an 8-letter password with letters, lowercase and uppercase as well as numbers and symbols. That does NOT make any password more secure, it just makes it harder for ME to remember it. Screw 'em, they sucked anyway.

Instead of teaching people to use big passwords made of common words (easy to remember), they chose to instead make 8 letter passwords stronger. Pretty dumb if you ask me. It's that way everywhere because it's that way everywhere. Just people copying what others are doing.
Around here the academic institutions are forcing people to do it, so all of the tech guys think it's right too. I've always just assumed that if somebody wanted to hack one of my passwords they could, so I try not to give any reasons for them to try.

I don't understand why anyone would feel that these boards have gone downhill or gotten worse. Was it actually better when there was hardly anyone here? Then that's probably why some found them to be "better," because there was almost no one there. No activity means no trolling. However, more active boards =/= worse boards. So long as there's active moderation and people follow the rules, the more active a board is, the better. Our forum has grown immensely over the years, and while I'm sorry to see anyone leave, I'm really happy that we have so many regulars. I'm especially happy that we have so many young members. You know you're doing your job of educating people about the Genesis when you have lots of interested forum members who were either infants or not even born when it was released. :)

You need to be a member to see that sub forum "chit-chat". It's not a PCE forum, it's an anything game related forum. Just like this "insert coin" forum. Also, I read over the whole thing. It's rather tame. If anything, ddd1234 (what kind of lame name is that?) is the one being defensive about Raiden on the Genesis. Only one member is actually anti Genesis (if you can call it that. 'Rover doesn't hate the Genesis, he's just not a fan outside a few games/favs), all the other members are listing Genesis shmups they love. I think that's pretty damn good for a dedicated forum. You'd definitely see more 'haters' here posting such opinions for non Sega game lists, here.Quote:

I don't have time to be in more than three forums at a time.
The ones I frequent most are Sega-16, shmups and sega-brasil.
For a brief while I was in RF generation as well, but as I said time is important and I like to keep focus.
I'm active on 3 forums, and it really is like a day job! Between here, Digital Press, and KLOV it gets tough to keep track.
Digital Press is becoming this way, and it becoming less and less active. KLOV boards and here I can barely keep up with though, the new posts and topics move so fast that in one day a thread can go from 2 to 10 pages, it's nutty!Quote:
