Lmao, have fun in 20 years. You're already like a 60 yo man and you're 22. You're just ridiculous.

Yep.
Also composite can look good using a great video encoder.
The point is that Clessy ignores/do not know anything that is not in his room or that he doesn't consider as "right", "commom", "default", "stardard"... "Most normal people"??? Do the "most normal people" play Genesis games today? So why should anyone here care about what such people consider to be the best choice?
Many people still have CRT TVs. I recently bought one CRT TV 'cause I like it and I prefer old games. He likes XBOX 360, PS3 and that stuff more than old consoles, so he's here busting balls and trying to convince anyone that shitty filtered images are a great thing.
Guntz has nailed it already: the guy just doesn't fit in the Sega-16 main subjects...
Aside from harsh posts, laughable thoughts and incomprehensible phrases; I can't see his contribution to this forum, really. Poor arguments and childish discussions all the time.
All members should contemplate his endless ignorance once in a day at least. It makes me feel better.
Are you kidding? There is an attitude all across this board lately that needs to be fixed. A prime example is how absolutely hateful almost everyone was to that guy who didnt speak English well. Thats ridiculous and you should all feel ashamed you're so simple minded that you refuse to let other people have opinion. You also feel the need to mock and bully up on people as if you where in grade school. Learn to deal with your emotions guys. You know the 3 of you im talking about.
@eddiespruce
It's pointless to continue discussing with him... Don't waste your time. Some games do look better using composite than anything else, like Final Fight CD, but only smart people are able to see the difference.
Can we not derail topics with petty arguments like these? Don't like someone, just put them on ignore. How many times must I say this?
Remember the anime dolls/pedophillia talk? I really think you of all people should not speak for the rest of the forum about whoīs wanted or not. Actually, Clessy posted in your and Tasukeīs favor IIRC when you two were flamed.
So please...
About the topic you argued about... the thing is Clessy has a point, it just got out of hand.
When I have both the MD version of Fatal Fury and the version from the archieves-collection on PS2 at home... yes, there is little reason to play the MD version. The arcade emulation on PS2 just naturally beats the MD port.
This is what he meant saying that there was no reason to play bemus/fighting games on MD or SNES anymore; the assumption that most people, with people here posting in the internet mostly not exactly being stuck with 1990 technology, have the means to play the games in better quality anyway.
Thatīs a fair assumption imo. With classics being rereleased arcade perfect all the time anyone with a PS2, PSP, PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii can easily play the superior versions. If you are willing to hack/use illegal ROMs you can add Dreamcast and Xbox to that list.
You can play on your big screen, with joypads in your hands, and with friends; all that is possible with these "superior" versions just as with the MD and SNES ports.
Thatīs specifically talking about this genre btw; a genre where the home ports in 16 bit days just always were watered down from the arcade originals. Of course you can play a native MD game such as Sonic 3 best on a MD. Thatīs not the point.
So qualitywise, there is no reason to play the old ports for most people.
But some people will still do. Although an arcade perfect SF II port may be a bit better, SF II SCE on MD can still be a lot of fun. Itīs small flaws in comparison donīt make it unfun. Itīs just that the arcade version is even more polished so most people will rather play that one.
But maybe you love the MDīs controller, maybe you just like everything on MD better for emotional reasons, maybe you are just nostalgic; those things let some people give the outdated MD ports the edge over the arcede perfect version.
Thatīs perfectly fine. I myself looked for Fatal Fury 2 on MD a long time although I could have played it on my PS2 for 10 bucks; but I wanted it on MD.
When you go at it with pure logic there is little reason to play fighting games (non-exclusive ones) on 16 bit consoles today. Clessy is right about that. But for many players the decision is not a thing of logic, and they just feel better with those.
P.S.: I prefer my games unfiltered. But much worse than SAI or Super Eagle or anything like that are scanline filters. I canīt believe people had such shitty TVs where you would actually notice scanlines and see them so well. I never had a CRT where they were very visible, so scanline filters look more unnatural imo than any other filters.
I don't want to come across as a know-it-all.
... probably too late now.
Just change it to Olls Knowing. :p
