Looking for Turbo/PC Engine information, any good sites?

Fortune has smiled upon me, and I am now the proud owner of a TurboDuo console. I'm pretty excited about this!

I'm wondering what the good sites are for Turbo/PC Engine stuff. I used to know to quite a few good Turbo fansites back when I was in high school, but I've either forgotten all of their urls, or they just don't exist any more. I'm looking for something with reviews, features, information, etc., about the TurboGrafx/PC Engine console. I guess you could say I'm looking for the Turbo version of Sega-16, if such a site even exists. Anyone have any links they could send my way?

http://www.thebrothersduomazov.com/ - Great deal of info on this. Be far warned though, the reviews aren't main streamed. To be honest, it's more for the hardcore PCE fan looking to delve into less popular games in the library (often overlooking 'superficial' stuff like graphics or animation, etc). Please ignore the site's poor and unreasonable review of Spriggan Mark 2 :p

Closed gated? Show me where they do background checks and *require* a reference of existing members to get in. Also, they're not anymore rough on newcomers than here. I'd say even less so, unless you're a straight out asshole and/or shoot your mouth off. It stands to reason that if you're a new comer to any forum, you should probably keep a low or restricted profile and get to know people first before you let loose. Feel out the community and members. It's called tact. You yourself could use some of that, n00b! ;)

PCFX isn't really close gated, the admin(s) just never seem to be around to approve new users.

I've had nothing but good responses from Pcenginefx. There are also plenty of of people to chat with on digitpress if you are looking for game recommendations.

Im proud one man destroyed an entire forum (cuz of me they are now a TINY community that is extremely hard to get accepted into)

Curryman123: I don't particularly go there for the love. There's really only a few members I know there anymore. Most are new guys, that I don't really know. Plus, things are slow there. It's pretty active here. I don't post much here, but I read a lot of threads. Nice steady rate of activity. PCFX was pretty good 4 to 6+ years back when it was more active. Though they had quite a few cliques back then too (take that as both a positive and negative).

Despite what you think, you're being hypocritical by pleading somebody to stop antagonizing you. Sadly, there is nothing like Sega-16 for the PC-Engine. Then again, there's almost nothing like Sega-16 for anything else. To be honest, besides some UK retro forums, the majority of PCE talk is probably here at Sega-16 and DP forums. And some stuff at Assembler's forums (though mostly just collectors from what I've seen). The best thing about PCFX, is the repair forums. Those guys are impressive with the repair knowledge they've accumulated. Else, not a lot really goes on there.

Also, did you get a flash cart yet? Neo Flash?

Turbo Grafx CD would be my favorite system ever if I knew japanese. So many classic epic and glorious RPGS and text adventures for the system that have never been translated and probably never will untill they learn how to subtitle the many video scenes in all turbo CD games.

Doh, I was all excited that they were actually making subtitled versions of PCE CD games. ;)

I've been on pcefx for a year or so now... I have to say its a pretty good community. They're only harsh to new users that come in acting like ass hats, or people that just join to try and sell their games at ebay prices. There is a thriving tech community that is extremely helpful to anyone who needs help getting a console repaired / modded. I'd say give PCEFX a chance. It does take a while to get account approval, but once you're in its nice!

I had my account verified fairly quickly at PCEngineFX. The folks there are pretty nice, though I recognize a few members from the Digital Press site.

They can be a tad harsh, but usually towards people who make accounts and proceed to hawk their TG16/PCE stuff at insane Ebay prices. But I admit, TG16 goods ARE often times way overpriced which is why I import everything (I own a DUO RX).

But back on topic, I second:

Turbo Views

They're my go-to's when I need info on games I'm interested in, especially imports.
