Factory Sealed lists...

I know I know, everyone here hates factory sealed... well I love them! So screw you! lol.

Just got in 8 games...

Dungeons & Dragons - VGQ 100.
Gemfire - VGQ 95.
Herzog Zwei - No VGA. But looks 95. (Has a small tear in the side)
Master of Monsters - VGQ 95.
Phantasy Star 3 - VGQ 100.
Shining Force - VGQ 100.
Super Hydlide - VGQ 100.
Sword of Vermilion - VGQ 100.

Got the Herzog Zwei from rarebucky and the rest from video_game_quality. Satisfied with both; VGQ was outstanding.

Couple things I learned: First, and yes, I should have known this... but make sure to get pics of all sides of the games prior. Especially the sides. Two of the games hang tabs were removed, but very cleanly... I don't know how someone could do it with a razor blade... and Herzog came with a small tear in the side that wasn't mentioned prior. As this was the only game not shipped in a solid case, it could have happened during shipping.

Which leads in to the second thing I learned; only accept factory sealed games shipped in hard containers. May have to pay a little more (the things are pretty expensive), but totally worth it for piece of mind and to protect your investment.

Lastly, I know the predominant feeling here seems to be that VGA is a scam, and totally not worth it, but actually, after buying some hard cases (haven't arrived yet), the price for VGA grading doesn't seem as steep as I initially thought. It's also an excellent method of ensuring buyer confidence.

Anyways, these are my first 8 games. Will be looking for a lot more. :) If you know someone with some high-quality sealed Genesis games, give me a holler.

P.S. Just noticed that they AREN'T rated by VGA, but by video_game_quality himself. So... take it for what it's worth I guess. However, the games are in magnificent condition, so I don't think VGA would rate them much, if at all, differently. (Ones with hang-tabs missing though... not sure about that)

It's so amazing how this guy keeps duping folks like out poor OP here. He must be at least a multi-freaking-thousandaire by now. Go go gadget asshole!

They aren't reseals... if they are, they are completely identical to the real thing. Hard plastic, oval on the top, no seam on the sides... if you can point me to reseals that look identical, or at least something that would indicate a reseal, I'm all ears. If I thought that was the case, I'd certainly be complaining to Ebay this instant.

I didn't clue in that they weren't VGA rated until I just saw now. Would have raised a few questions for sure... but what's done is done with regards to that.

Yes, that was the auction. $1300 for 7 games. If you don't have the money, then don't collect the sealed games. If you can find me the same games in the same condition for cheaper, I'll gladly check it out...

Those look like reseals... nothing like what was shipped to me.

Regardless if you think collecting sealed games is stupid or not (hint ALL collecting is stupid!), I was hoping others would share the games they've collected as well. Doesn't seem a place for that with regards to strictly factory sealed games.

If you view the seller "Video game quality's" feedback, on the right of the screen, simply click on "View ID history", and it shows that he was RPGarcana.

Sorry, but this is probably correct. I personally have no interest in buying sealed games, but I feel sorry for all the people that get screwed over by him.

Video_Game_Quality used to use the name RPGArcana. He buys games in near mint condition, and re-seals them. People called him out on his seals originally and he changed them to be much better. His seals do really look like the real thing. But as everyone has stated, the hang tab should have been present on all games.

The links you linked too look like obvious re-seals. The only game he's selling that I know is acctually a legit seal is his Strider. He bought it brand new for $50 a while back and simply jacked up the price.

There's one user, I forget his name but he's the guy with like 20 sealed Master System games he's been trying to get rid of forever. He's an expert on sealed games and should be able to tell seals from re-seals.

Ahh ok. I'm reading through the thread that's claiming he's a resealer. In the mean time however, some info on not only what a resealed game looks like, but also what's REQUIRED to do a high quality reseal. Because from what I've read, to get the factory quality requires some very expensive sealers. Not something you can pick up and put in your house, certainly not something that would make the cost worthwhile...
