None of the links provided are to games I purchased. The links are to games that look like reseals to me.

Still begs the question: what does a high-quality resealed game look like? What should I look for to confirm your suspicions that the games aren't legit? (And I'm talking specifically about the seal here...)

BTW, the seals look exactly like the one that I got from rarebucky... from what I've read on these forums, he has a good credentials. (Or am I wrong about that?)

Ok, so I noticed two differences. (I'll be asking for a refund on the ones without tags, as that seems to be 100% consensus...) First, the oval on the top is a little longer than the Herzog game. Meaning, there's a little less plastic on the top. The second is the seam at the bottom of the Herzog game goes up the back spine about a centimeter whereas the others all stop cleanly. The plastic feels identical however. I don't notice any other differences.

Just want to get to the truth backed up with facts.

So wait, you paid $1300 for 7 reseals?

I think I just found me a way to make some money. Capitalize on them dumb people.

Why the hell would you want to pay so much money for a reseal job when you can still buy five times more of the same games brand new (as in, with actual seals)? I mean, these games weren't exactly one of a kind, now were they. Heck, take me up on this very comment and say you could only buy one of each for such a price. That's still an actual seal, not some retarded wrap job from some douchebag on eBay.

Didn't RPGArcana write a guide about telling reseals from real seals?

People make mistakes. I mean, when I looked at the auctions I thought they were VGA graded because of the acrylic box and poly bag. I hadn't figured it out until I noticed the VGA slip with the hologram was missing.

Regarding the $1300, it's my opinion people can spend their money on whatever they want. It's none of our business who spends how much for what.

Come on guys, give me something to work with here. HOW do you know they are reseals beyond simply the seller? I can't in good conscience request a refund without some tangible indication that they aren't legit.

Yes, that was the auction. $1300 for 7 games. If you don't have the money, then don't collect the sealed games. If you can find me the same games in the same condition for cheaper, I'll gladly check it out...

Those look like reseals... nothing like what was shipped to me.

Regardless if you think collecting sealed games is stupid or not (hint ALL collecting is stupid!), I was hoping others would share the games they've collected as well. Doesn't seem a place for that with regards to strictly factory sealed games.

So screw you! lol." and "If you don't have the money, then don't collect the sealed games." implied something like "I'm better than you" or "You suck for not being like me" and it certainly do not encourage people to help you.

You should pay for a radiocarbon dating report on the sealing plastic and then prosecute eBay + seller.

I think you're talking about DarkSol? I agree though, he comes off a little harsh sometimes but he really appears to know his stuff when it comes to sealed games. I think he is also one of the original people that called out RPGArcana on the resealing.

To the seller:
If I was in your shoes, having gotten so much negative feedback on a seller at this point I would request a refund regardless. Maybe $1300 is a drop in the bucket to you, but I could buy almost and entire systems' worth of games with that amount, and if I felt even remotely uncomfortable about a transaction I'd rather return it than find out 15 years later that a "crown jewel" is a reseal.

It sucks to be "that guy" and to take advantage of eBay this way, but they almost always side with the seller in situations where they feel they have been duped. Just make sure that if/when you return them, you put tracking/insurance on the package so that the seller can't claim you didn't a ship them back.

Good luck, nobody is trying to troll you here but a lot of people here have some animosity towards RPGArcana/video_game_quality.

It says "factory new" and "sealed", but never together. So he doesn't claim it's factory sealed. And I guess that's how he manages to get away with it. But if the hangtab is missing then it isn't "factory new" either.

The problem is that you have spent so much money on your belief in the games' genuineness that nothing we say is going to sway you otherwise. You have already shown this by trusting a well known and disrespected thorn in the community over the voices every other member of that community.

And I have over 500 factory sealed games, so don't presume to know your audience before walking among us.

Sorry man, that wasn't at all my intention/accusation. I've just noticed this board to be pretty anti-sealed is all. Collecting sealed games requires more money than collecting unsealed games is all I meant by that statement. Not that one was better than the other. Certainly didn't mean to give offense.

I prefer to keep the conversation civil, on topic, and factual. Problem here is, I haven't heard anything factual. Just a lot of, "this guys a resealer, don't trust him"... Why should I trust you over him? For his part, everything he's done has been impeccable (minus the missing seals, which, from the way they've been sliced, looks to have been done with a single instrument, not a razor...). Shipping, communication, packaging, even the games look (to my eyes anyways) great. So again, why should I believe you?
