So, I've sold my PS3...

And two years ago my 360 went the same way. I just can't get into modern console gaming. The only PS3 games I really liked were Killzone 2 and Demon's Souls because they felt like a PC game hardcoreness wise. Yeah, I love some modern PC titles like Company of Heroes, Stalker games, Team Fortress 2, but I really can't stand all those Gears/Uncharted/Crysis 2/Halo/whatever bullshit. There's something about modern consoles that makes me not care about them at all.

Gimme some classic consoles instead. NES, Genesis and SNES are my Holy trinity. 2D titles on Saturn and PS1 rule too. Gimme classic 90's PC titles. Gimme 80's and 90's arcade hits.

Oh, and GS' System Wars forum makes me sick. Long live Sega-16 :p

To be honest, the only reason I've kept my PS3 is because I want to get Shadow of the Colossus and Ico, and it might be a great emulator machine in the future.

Why not keep a small PC as an emulator machine? Windows has much more choices and diversity among emulators.

I just can't get into modern gaming period. I'm a little interested in the Wii and DS, but everything else just doesn't have enough to catch my interest. Plus I hate the attitude that many publishers are taking towards gamers and the increasing reliance on online services.

My PS3 serves as my entertainment center (bluray, netflix, mp3s, occasional game). I'm not big into current gaming, but mainly because of the lack of quality and innovation. I enjoyed a handful of games like Uncharted, Borderlands, Blur, and Bulletstorm.

If the PS3 only played games I might not keep it, but with the utility it provides me, I use it every day for one form of entertainment or another. It's a bit like an electronic swiss army knife.

I mostly use it for PSN games and sometimes PS1.

And Blurays!

Otherwise I agree that most retail games are boring.

I can't sell either of my PS3s (one in the bedroom, one in the living room). I love em. Like others have mentioned they serve many purposes, not only for gaming. Besides, my fiance would kill me if I took her "Netflix Machine" (as she calls it) away. I am playing the hell out of Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection right now. It's full of rage quitters and glitches, but it does take me back to the golden age of arcades.

And games not working out of the box! I bought space marine recently for my ps3 and the bloody multi-player doesn't work! They announced the game a while ago and still couldn't get it right.

The thing is that back in the day each console had its own personality ,
certain colorschemes , sound chips , titles and mascots.

Nowadays consoles seem just like PCs but with a awkward controller and a less modular structure ,
which means you'll have to buy a new one instead of upgrading it.
Same high-res 3D graphics , with the same amount of max colors ,
CD quality audio , same storage format and whatnot.
Each port looks virtually identical , be it PC , Xb360 or Ps3.

So why should I get a Xb360 and/or a Ps3 when my PC can deliver the same entertainment and more? :/

Eggclusive software?

Considering most "eggclusive" software nowadays is Generic FPS game #27850 and so on , I'll pass :)
Most of the actually good FPS games get ported to PC anyways.

You are missing or on Dark Souls, the spiritual successor to Demon's Souls. This game (and a few notable others) justifies owning a PS3.

Ahhh, I wish I could afford a 360 or a PS3, but those systems cost around $700-800 USD here where I live...(game copies varies from $80-100, $150 if its a new release ).. I need to play Tekken 6!! and I don't want to miss Tekken Tag Tournament 2 either, damn.

I was seriously thinking into sell my copies of Snow Bothers, Slap Fight, Gleylancer and Twinkle Tale to Buy a 360+Kinect (I already sold Battle Mania Daiginjo but I regreted it).
