This has been a hot topic on the AtariAge Flashback forum for awhile. While I would have preferred to see the continued evolution of the Flashback line (rather than another rehashed 2600), it looks like this will be a decent dedicated system for those who just want an easy way to get an Atari "fix".

As I have the original hardware, I would not be purchasing such a unit unless it was dirt cheap. I did wind up buying a FB1 and FB2 for $10 each, and would likely do the same if I ran across this :D . Of course, I would prefer to pick up the new Atari-compatible console Legacy is starting to work on:

Seems pointless, you can find 2600/jr and a bunch of games for much less. Does that POS even run original carts? The original Atari sticks are already horrible and prone to fail after some time. Why would they even want to reproduce those?!

From your average consumer's standpoint these mini-consoles are attractive. They're(usually) inexpensive, and take up very little space.
I found a video of the Flashback 3(there is another version of this review, but this one has louder audio coming from the consoles, so it's easier to hear the games):
If my ears aren't playing tricks on me, about the only sound flaws I can see are slightly higher sound pitch and some slight inaccuracies with the white noise. The video appears to be a bit too saturated, but one thing which really caught my attention is the stuttering. Listen to the sound; it's actually stuttering, and I wonder if this has to do with the ARM core used in the Flashback 3 being too weak to properly emulate the Atari 2600(unlikely), this guy's capture equipment inducing stuttering or just shoddy coding on AtGames' part. Either way, I'm still intrigued by the Flashback 3. I will say, though, compared to any Geniclone AtGames has released, this thing just runs 'em all over. It seems much more faithful to the 2600 than any of AtGames' Geniclones ever could be faithful to the Genesis.
Still, this is an AtGames product, and if anything has AtGames' name on it, I will not buy it new because if I do, I'd be giving AtGames money they don't deserve, so the hell with that. The only reason I'd ever buy an AtGames product is either out of curiosity or just to show people and see for myself how awful their products are.
EDIT: Upon closer inspection, it seems as though some of the colors are a different shade than they would be on a real 2600. They all seem to be a bit more faded and more saturated than on a 2600.
