Atari 2600 is not the same generation as 5200 and Colecovision. I disapprove.
Well, according to Wikipedia they are, because they're not part of the 3rd generation. Perhaps if the 2nd generation had 2 halves, you could say that Colecovision and the 5200 were part of the "Second half of the 2nd generation".Quote:

Wow, as much as I like Sega, none of their consoles could I honestly say were my favorites among the competition.
Don't care about 1st or 2nd generation.
3. NES
4. Sega Genesis
5. Playstation

1st Generation: I haven't played any of these.
2nd Generation: Atari 2600, though with the Master Everdrive I am enjoying the SG-1000 quite a bit.
3rd Generation: Master System by a long shot. I've played most of the NES library and have gotten way more play time out of the Master System.
4th Generation: Genesis, but this was a tough one, TG16+CD, Sega CD, 32X and SNES are all equally interesting to me.
5th Generation: Saturn, based on playtime alone, I still struggle with PS1 and N64 games, even the good ones piss me off right from the start.
6th Generation: Dreamcast, same as the above, PS2, Xbox and Gamecube games rarely make me pick them up twice.
7th Generation: Xbox 360, mainly for Xbox Live Arcade and Live gaming, but this generation would fall below the 8-bit generation in overall interest for me.
1st gen: ?
2nd gen: Atari 2600
3rd gen: NES
4th gen: Genesis
5th gen: N64
6th: Dreamcast
7th: NONE.
8th: Most probably NONE. :)
I was the first to vote for the Sega CD.
After voting on these polls, I realized I have only played about two consoles from most of the generations, I should branch out more.
This was my thought as well. Not all consoles fit neatly into a generation. I've never really considered the Dreamcast to be part of the Xbox/PS2/Gamecube generation; it's more of a tweener in my mind.Quote:
