Well, now I know why you're always the first person in NG threads to say "Just get a Neo Geo!" ;)
When I have more disposable income, I think I'll definitely consider collecting for this console.

Riding Hero is a rare game in that you can link to of them together. It has an input on it that is similar to that of a head phone jack so when you link to games together like I do with my AES and my MVS, you can play head to head and quite fun. I like super spy, very nostalgic, 3 Count Bout is a button masher. Soccer is fun, very competitive and fun as hell you can knock out players and the REF if you want.
Look, I already know all this stuff. Have known it for years in fact. I am definitely not a Neo noob. And how does the link play make up for the competing bikes that can come up from behind and knock you off the road? That is definitely not a good thing... Perhaps I can learn to love Riding Hero though, it's the closest (and only) thing there is on the Neo comparable to Super Hang On (a personal favorite).
Hmm, maybe you have a point. Supposedly bad games can still be fun. It's all a matter of taste.Quote:

A lot of the earlier Neo games are like bad 80's movies. Terrible, yet still fun in some odd cheesy way. Ninja Combat is a great example, it's completely awful yet I still find it enjoyable to play through once in a while. Most of my AES games are those early NOS games that have popped up on ebay recently. Such an awesome cheesefest. I haven't played Riding Hero yet, even though I have it.
Nam 1975 is still the king of early releases though. It's good-good, not crappy-good like most of the others.
I love all that old stuff, nothing ground breaking but these games are what makes the good games great. I just have fun with the harware and linking a MVS to an AES is also fun, what other consoles can you do that to? Bad games can be fun, I really like super spy, IDK why..
Sorry to necrobump, but I'm apparently about to come into possession of Lastcallhall's CDZ. Small world!
That's really strange - I was thinking about that system last night, no joke. I was wondering if I would ever come across another boxed CDZ again, and what I would consider paying for it. I wanted to do a cross comparison of Fatal Fury Special from MVS/AES and CD to the PCE-CD and 16 bit ports to see how the ports stacked up. Anyhow enjoy it, I hope the last owner took good care of it! :)
He seems to have taken care of it, he just wants to take the next step and get into home carts. I just happen to have a modded out the wazoo home cart system I was about to sell, so that works out!
I have a ton more Neo Geo stuff these days. Curious what can happen in a couple years.
I picked up Ninja Combat and Blue's Journey some time ago. They're pretty decent, I enjoy playing them.
Has anyone played/enjoyed Cyber-Lip?
I've played Cyber-Lip. I certainly wouldn't call my time with it enjoyment. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it if I had played it in the arcades back in 1990 or whenever it was released, but I first played it in 2012.
Wasn't every game released on the AES also released on the CD? At least that's what I've always thought.
Nope. A good many did, though most fighters suffered from horrible load times. Here's a list ones that didn't make it a particular console:
