So I threw down on a CIB Jap MUSHA last week, because it was considerably cheaper than the US version. It's the most I've ever spent on a game (still less than 3 digits tho). It was 90 bucks with shipping.
So this got me thinking...
What was the most you've ever paid for a Gen/MD game? Or any game in general?
I paid $330 for a huge lot of Master System, 32X, Genesis and Sega CD games. I was able to make all of it back plus more selling the ones I didn't want here or on ebay. It was a damn good deal.

$90? For a Japanese Musha? I've seen it for sale for much more on ebay! I'd say you got a great deal. The most I've paid for anything Genesis? Probably... IDK! But I spent $190 on a lot of a boxed 3DO and games! I thought I got a really good deal considering 13 of them were complete with the big boxes, and they were really good games!

I've been looking for a copy of MUSHA too, but not very hard. There was a lot with one that just finished the other day on eBay, but the reserve wasn't met and copy looked pretty beat up. Plus the seller wouldn't tell me which games had manuals and which didn't, kind of lame since I probably would have bid if they gave me more info about it. Anyway, like most I've got the same answer as last time too.
Highest Single Game - Snatcher for SegaCD at about $170
Highest Purchase - I've got tie here I think:
1) A big Sega Genesis/CD lot with sealed Crime Patrol, Shining Force and some rare cardboard box games, about $250 shipped but there were some issues with the packaging so he refunded me part of it.
2) My DuoRX with a several controllers, turbo tab, CD games (Turbo and PCE) plus some loose hueys and a CoreGrafx since he didn't want that either; about $250 as well.
i was afraid 90 was a little high too, because it was a buy it now price. i usually steer clear of nuy it nows, but i wanted some hot musha action.
Paid $75 for SFII:SCE when it was first released. I bought it from a game magazine, before the game was sold in stores. :cool: It was totally worth it bc I lived on that game for years.
Also a couple yrs ago, I bought the PS2 Samurai Shodown Anthology for the same price, $75. :cool:
I paid $950 for my SegaSonic Arcade PCB.
by far the most I've spent on a single game.

In general, though, collecting arcade games, especially if you have a Supergun, isn't nearly as expensive. Most games go for about $40-$100, even the higher quality CPS2 games. I got a copy of Aliens vs Predator for the CPS2, phoenixed (so no suicide battery) for $115. SegaSonic is kinda a special case because it's A) Highly sought after, and B) pretty rare.
I've never spent a huge amount of cash on any Genesis game. That was part of the appeal when I started collecting, actually; that I could get a lot of the best games, complete, for a relatively low cost. I think the most I've spent to date since I started collecting Genesis games was a complete copy of Phantasy Star IV in good condition. That was last year sometime, and I spent around fifty bucks on it.
I do anticipate shelling out the big bucks for games like Alien Soldier, Twinkle Tale, Musha, Cotton Panorama, etc., at some point in the future. But in the mean time, there are tons of terrific Genesis titles that can be had for a much smaller investment. I mean hell, I don't even own Castle of Illusion yet!
Ahh, I meant Dedicated cabs for SegaSonic the Hedgehog. I know it's a 3-player game like Moonwalker but with trackballs, was it a conversion only cabinet or something? I couldn't imagine that if it was a game that needed pretty much 3 trackballs with 3 buttons to function properly, and I can't even think of any other games like that. I can't even find a picture of a marquee or side art online or on KLOV. Would love to have a cabinet of the game!Quote:

Actually I just saw that he DOES have the marquee (it's in the above pic) but not a complete scan of it. I'll try and get one eventually. I'm guessing there were 2-player and 3-player models, as he seems to have a 2-player panel.
I have a Jap copy of Musha I tried to sell. I had no price, and was open to offers. Nothing. At one point I was willing to trade it for a loose copy of Quackshot and nobody bothered to hit me up. I eventually traded my US copy for Splatterhouse 3 and retired the Jap one to my collection as being worthless as a collectible. It's my playing copy now.
