It's the original hearing for SOPA, back in december. Before the protest. These are the men chosen to decide the fate of one of the greatest innovations of our time, displaying a stunning amount of ignorance in the underlaying technology. It's incredible to watch these jackasses stumble their way through obviously prepared MPAA and RIAA written statements. Then flaunt those with concerns over the bill as nerds.
Imagine this same group deciding the fate of any important issue. Goddamn.
I've decided to boycott the MPAA and RIAA. I'm not buying anymore new movies or music, and I'm going to let my satellite radio subscription run out. I'll still get a few used things here or there, but I'm done with the new stuff. I'm not sure that it will make any kind of difference, but maybe I'll be able to get a few things paid off quicker as a side effect. :lol:
We haven't had cable or been able to see new movies for a few years now, and I have never been interested in the music industry. It is nice to never hear or see an advertisement for any kind of product, including political candidates. My interest in "new" stuff has completely died as a result, including political candidates. ;)
Yea, I moved about four years ago and didn't bother to get any new TV service. It was kind of rough at first. I even had withdrawl symptoms :lol:. Now, I can't stand to sit and watch TV for any length of time. The commercials and manufactured tripe drive me nuts. I can go over to a friend's house and they'll turn on the TV and within five minutes I'm squirming in my chair trying to think up an excuse to get out of there.
^ Oh man old man, I actually forget this is why I don't like to stay at other people's places for long. Sometimes I think I'm just being anti-social, but I really just can't stand background chatter.
Unfortunately I was forced to start with Hulu Plus this year because the wife loves to have something in the background while she works on stuff on the computer. I am hoping I can kill Hulu and go back to Netflix just to avoid the commercials. In the mean time I have been clicking on the "no" this is not appropriate to me links on every commercial that will let me. ;)
