Any PC with a decent capture card from Hauppauge could do it, but I'd bet DVRs are cheaper than that. Unless you have an older PC, no more than five years old, you could pay $80 or so on a good capture card and be set with an HTPC, but that really shouldn't be cheaper than a DVD player that can record input video.Quote:

My laptop is in my living room, but the screen isn't half as big as my CRT tv. Plus, when you stream something, the quality isn't always the best. I rarely ever watch TV anyway, and I've at times, gone several weeks without turning my TV on even once.Quote:

Yeah, but I don't just get up one day and say "I feel like watching some movie today", I'm usually never in the mood to watch anything.
