So has anyone played this game? I'm wondering if it's any good. I would have done a bit of research and possibly found a pre-existing thread on this topic, or possibly even a review, but I figured I'd rather just have a brief shining moment as the center of attention.
And rubbish to anyone who says that I'm just clogging up the forums with redundant threads. Without recurring topics like this, these forums would crumble and die.
Which version are you asking about specifically? If you like Bubble Bobble, I can't see how you can go wrong, they're almost identical from what I've played.

Remember the Bubble Bobble compilation for the PSX? It had Bubble Bobble 1 & 2 and Rainbow Islands on it (or was it the other way around?). That was the only time I've played RI and I didn't care for it one bit. I think my main sticking point was that it played like Bubble Bobble but it wasn't single-screen. Something like that, anyway. My point is that you weren't a dinosaur and that pissed me off.

No, young member, I'm afraid Rainbow Islands is worth neither your time or money. Let me recommend some games that are. Dark Castle, Awesome Possum, Heavy Nova, Earth Defend, Earth Defense (yes, this is a different game from the previous), Shaq Fu, Batman Forever, Hard Drivin, Risky Woods, Primal Rage, Scooby Doo Mystery, any of the Barbie or Chester Cheetah games, and every iteration of Madden for the vast overhaul it received yearly from EA (Sega's second party developer). You should also pick up a Sega CD for Night Trap, Double Shift, and Wild Woody; add to that the 32X for Supreme Warrior.
I am so certain of these titles' quality that I would recommend the lot to every newcomer in your position of doubt. In fact I think this list should be stickied.
