Light Guns on HD CRT Televisions
I guess these don’t work on CRT TV’s? I have a Flat screen Sony WEGA CRT TV (230 Pounds!!!!!!!!) and it is HD and obviously up converts the signal to fit it’s resolution. When playing light gun games (Like Duck Hunt) it won’t register, if I hold the gun right next to the TV and fire rapidly I can get one duck MAYBE, but extremely rare occurrence. I have two light guns and both have the issue.

Nope, sadly this is common with HD CRTs. I've not heard of a HD CRT that does work with old school guns.
Nope, no way no how. As far as I know, the problem is that HD CRTs don't have scanlines and the light guns needs those to locate the top left and bottom right of the screen.
Oh snap, anyone have a GX Tv for sale? Always wanted one and now I have a reason.
I'd keep an eye on craigslist and local ebay auctions personally. I settled for a 27" RCA flat screen that works great, a friend just gave it to me. ;)
I have a 32" JVC Flat screen HDTV ..Works fine with light guns and even R.O.B ....
This is because those TVs generally try to deinterlace or frame-double the image, to get 100/120Hz operation to reduce flicker, this however kills lightgun compatibility.
It introduces one frame delay and it messes up what game expects
